Looking for new printer cartridges for my Brother MFC and am torn between biting the bullet & buying genuine or buying generic. I need a full set.
Can any share their reasoning behind what they buy and from where?
Cheers

Definitely worth trying generic, and assess if the quality is affected (I assume you need quality prints of some material).
I've only use original cartridges or toners until the ones that come with the printer run out. From then on, I only use generic, usually from eBay sellers.
A full set of genuine cartridges or toners can often cost about the same as the whole printer.
I have a Brother MFC and only use generic cartridges from eBay. I have not had any problems whatsoever.
Can you suggest a seller/ retailer please?
I buy from YYUDA on eBay
I have a Brother Laser Printer and I swear the generic cartridges probably only have 10% of the toner of the real ones. But for $10 compared to $150, can't complain too much…
Probably need to change generic brands.
CISS. Continuous Ink Supply System. Cost usually not much more than a full set of ink cartridges and lasts a helluva lot longer, and is easily refillable when eventually needed.
I have used it for years and wore one printer out before I ran out of ink. So I found a newer printer that my cartridges worked in and just reinstalled it in that.
Plenty of sellers on eBay but I use RIHAC as it's localish and has great support, very friendly and approachable too. I am not associated, just really pleased with them and thew cost savings.
Laser? Dunno.
I had a Fuji Xerox, and the cartridges were small, & @$130. I bought some generic off ebay, which still had the same coverage for @$40. I then started refilling them (and replacing the chip), which worked out @$15. Massive saving.
I now have access to an Epson Ecotanks, which is humungously cheap to run. I also own a HP 5740, which is not printing too well (thanks for the reminder to chase some up again).
And, of course, we are all thinking twice if we really need to print something, aren't we?
Who prints things they don't need to?
Lots of people still seem to have a reliance on a paper print-out.
Why the hell would you buy genuine.
I buy the rip off brand from Big W.
I always buy refillable cartridges
http://www.inkbank.com.au/
why not refill them yourself & save money, better than generic cartridges
Are refillable cartridge only for inkjet?.. I couldn't find one for my brother mono laser printer
did you do a search on the site for your printer?
I would contact them & ask them about your printer, they are grouse to deal with
Laser printers use toners and not inks. You won't find toner refills for your laser printer on inkbank.
Generic. Works fine. Lots of choice on eBay.
