This popped up on the dashboard a few days ago but I just re-subscribed seeing as my Gold subscription expired a month ago, so figured I'd post it. It might be gone in the next couple days so be quick. Prefer the Microsoft Points over the 2 free arcade games that was offered last time.

I used a prepaid card for this and am hoping that I still get the 750 Microsoft Points in 6-8 weeks time since it doesn't say you have to use a credit card to be eligible. To be eligible it says you just need to upgrade through the in-dash signup shown in the picture. When I pressed confirm payment it said something along the lines of 'no payment details on account' and gave me the option of either entering credit card details or entering in a prepaid card code, which I did. So fingers crossed.

and received the code via email in less than 5 minutes. Ended up costing $50.40

I don't want to give Microsoft any credit card details as I'd rather avoid the whole auto-renewal business, even if it ends up costing me a bit more and even if it means I might not get the Microsoft Points.

    can;t seem to find it, then again i can;t seem to cancel my auto renewal so i can sign up with a deal instead of paying $80

    Just be careful signing up to this offer…. once MS has you signed up to 'gold' you specifically have to cancel it with them, dont just let it lapse or stop paying. Because then they will hold your account to ransom later on in a few years when you want 'gold' again. They'll ask you to pay up for all those years in between because you didnt give them notice to cancel- otherwise they wont gold you up. They did it to me, so I had to start up a new account name. Just be careful.

    Hey Hey all, newbie here…Just got onto xbox live a few weeks ago with a free 1 month trial. I am liking it and this seems like a good deal to continue on yeah? Montaigne83, how do I do this with 2 controllers?

Continue on and renew - I just did this and it seems to have worked, my account details say 40% offer started 02/2011 and next renewal 03/2012 (because I had a few more week left on my Gold). I’ll have to wait a few days and make sure that the correct amount was charged on my credit card, and now off to cancel the renewal on the website.

      If you don’t log out of the 1st controller (Silver account) the offer seems to get confused and try to make that account Gold, so PLEASE log out of the Silver account first, and keep your eyes on your avatar icon at the top of the window to make sure that you are extending the Gold account.
