Are you an Aussie seller? And is it genuine DJI stock?

  • What's the learning curve on one of these. Would it be a must to start on something much smaller and cheaper or possible to learn on this without destroying it? :)

    • i’d like to know that too. should i buy a tello first to learn to fly a drone?

Very easy to fly, even with no previous experience. Some people recommend starting with a non gps drone to learn the basics of flying without all of the tech aides. I think you’d be fine starting with the Mavic Air. First few batteries take it slow, do your pre flight checks, stay close and be aware of your surroundings. I’ve let friends fly my drones with no experience and they’ve been surprised how easy it is.
In saying all that I’ve got no idea about this store or if this is the cheapest price. I’d also recommend the flymore package.

The learning curve is 5-10 hours, im sure someone out their disagrees but there's alot to learn including how all the features work and also the do and do-nots. If you aren't up for the learn then buy a toy aka the tello. Also you will need a wide space to learn and figure out and tweak to your environment.

Buy a cheap $30 quad from kmart if you wanna get a hang of the sticks. No reason you cant get both, just practise on the toy quad a little first.

The Air is easier to fly but good to know what to do if/when the sensors fail and you get thrown into ATTI mode. Find a wide open space to fly it etc.

Buy batteries spare batteries also as you'll find it wont get anywhere near 21minutes flying time.

        • Biggest issue with the cheap quads is they get blown around with the slightest breeze to the point they don't go where you point them… Also it's virtually impossible to hover them as the trim is not 100 % I've seen a guy fly this model while my sixty dollar drone wouldn't stay still and was all over the shop…his hovered and flew effortlessly.

Also mine just drops out of the sky with no warning when the batteries go flat.

Good for a bit of fun… But not really useful

        • @wisc:

That's kind of the point, to get the hang of the sticks. Crash the cheap quad so that when your expensive DJI quad goes into Atti, you know what to do.

  • i’ve never flown a drone before but want to learn. my thinking is i buy a mavic air combo, get to know it with all the auto stuff turned on, and once comfortable turn that stuff off and gradually learn to fly it in atti mode. is that doable? i’m really after some solid advice please.

    • buy cheap drone from kmart or tello

  • It’s back up to $1049, what happened? I was gonna pull the trigger tomorrow!

    • Officeworks price beat will bring it down to $996, no shipping cost, guaranteed Aus stock, warranty etc

      • But Officeworks must match shipping, so it won’t be $996, right?

        • Yes they might take into consideration the postage cost, wouldn't be much from NSW though. They have dropped the price down to $999 again, so you'd get it 5% cheaper again at office works

Thanks for this tip. Ordered from Office Works this morning. $972.80

  • This was $999 yesterday … what gives?

  • The prices are influenced by DJI. The price has been reduced again!

Do we get manufacturer warranty directly from DJI?

Can we get DJI Refresh Pack for these drones?

Do you provide a GST paid bill with the required information for TRS refund at international airports in Australia?

  • yes, there is a manufacturers warranty. In that case, you would contact us if you have any faults with the product :)

    DJI Refresh: https://compurigtech.com/products/dji-care-refresh-mavic-air

Of course, we can provide a GST invoice. To make a TRS claim, a tax invoice is what is required so to my knowledge the invoice we can provide you with should be usable regarding TRS claims.

Here is more information regarding TRS requirements/eligibility: https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/trav/ente/tour/are-you-a-trav…

    • thanks, do you have the dji fly more combo for the mavic air as I didnt see it on the website and nor did I find spare batteries for it.

      • We do have them but they are currently out of stock. There has been a huge demand since listing very recently for the price they were. We have an ETA of early-mid next week for Fly More stock… this is for both Mavic pro 2 and Mavic Air!

How much is the Fly More for Mavic Air?

        • @TeesAndSuchAustralia:

the Fly More for Mavic Air

Unlike the Mavic 2, whereas the Fly More Kit is an extra that can be purchased at any time, the Mavic Air Fly More Combo is a unit by itself, not an accessory nor an add on.

        • @LFO: Ah, too bad then.

        • @LFO: so how much is the Mavic Fly More Combo package(the one which includes drone and extra batteries) ?

        • @discounthunter: DJI Mavic Air Fly More Combo Flame Red AND 64GB mem card AND free delivery @$1,599
