I really want a Kinect and currently this might be the only way to get one, but I would prefer to just use the xbox one a I already own. Its nigh impossible to get the adapter for it though.
I felt so gypped when i realised the free adapter with the Xbox One S was time limited.

Gumtree, have seen some 1s owners flogging kinect and adapter for under fiddy bucks.
You can buy plenty of after market adapters that work fine from ebay (or direct from china) I have one and it works fine on my Xbox One S, you just need an extra power point to power it.

You can do a cable mod for almost nothing if you have the USB3 cable already. Just check Google or Youtube.

I have Xbox one S, I have done the mod this method. I soldered a power socket.
But have re-did the mod because the original cable is longer, as I had no need for the original plug on the original cable, I chopped that end off and have spliced in a normal USB 3 plug and a power socket. I have not put it back in and tested it yet. It is little pain to get it back together without dust around the lens.
It works with Xbox One S and Windows PC for 3d scanning etc. It is supposed to work with Xbox One X too.
Kinect on Xbox One is sort of pointless and limited too, only a handful of games. No one really makes the games any more for it.
Dance Central, Just Dance, Sports and few others if you can find them.
It works great though and no XBOX 360 kinect games will not work.
Kinect is the best motion capture system I think compare to other console platforms. Move and Wii are not real, Kinect captures your head, limbs and hand movements.
Ebgames sell the Kinect 2.0 adaptor when I last checked for $28, it is not listed on the website but just ask.
The Xbox 360 connect sensor is $4 currently without power (you can but the power adapter from China for about $5). I bought two at $5 each before to hack up, one for spare.
Can confirm multiple staff at EB have said that a kinect adaptor only comes up on rare occasions and you need to happen to be asking when they have one as they dont stick around. Will look into the mod, but yeah the 360 Kinect gets use at my place so been wanting to try the zone version
Ok. When I asked it was around the Sydney City stores, I got the impression when I was looking that they had them in all the time.

They gave me $150 store credit when I traded in the same bundle to them.
That's how they do their business. You should have sold it on Gumtree for a bit more.
150 for what they sell new for 250 is a (profanity) deal and a half.
That's more than half of what a new one is worth to them, I'd be expecting a third or so tbh as a fair trade. If this is worth 250 new, preowned it ain't worth more than a hundred to them in my opinion, they have to make a profit too and no one is gonna buy the same thing preowned for the same price as new.
I seem to have received a refurb/used unit. Is this meant to be new stock? btw which games and how many did other who ordered this get - 2 or 4?
I didn't buy one myself and add is taken down now but definitely didn't say refurbished.
