All metal containers tastes metallic initially because that's what they're.
I used mine brew tea daily, after a week no metallic smell or taste anymore.
However to insulate better, the lid has plastic inside, that smell still around after a few months, not much in the drink though.
The normal pricing for 500ml is $7, $5 is sale price for certain colours.
