  • has anyone used these and can provide feedback in comparison to the official controller?

I had one and returned to JB HiFi two days later. I found that they were too large for my hands, and because I had to hold it around its middle rather than its base, my hands were over-sweating, it became very slippery, so the experience was terrible.

      • You could return them? I bought two (1 for a friend as well) and hated them. Huge regret. Didn’t know you could return them.

The build quality, the stick motion, the buttons. All wrong. Just made me appreciate my Elite Controller for the Xbox even more. (Mine are yet to start peeling thankfully).

I find the PS4 official controller is pretty much perfect as it is. It's also 1/2 the price of this on a regular basis. If they were the same price then maybe I would give this a go. This is also using the Xbox layout for dpad, joysticks etc. which I find weird compared to the PS4 layout.

  • Looks like an Xbox controller for the PS4(+ a few mod keys and the fact that it's wired), if you find the Xbox controller comfortable, this could be a buy?

    Our honest take on it:

It's more form-fitting than the Xbox One controller (ie. the triggers have a specific shape to them that cradle your finger more than an Xbox trigger) and the weighted handles mean you can change to suit, which is nice.

The only downside is that it's forced wired, but if you're okay with that, or appreciate the lower latency that a wired connection provides, it's a great buy.

Right now it's the only licensed controller that offers an Xbox style layout — the new Scuf controller will also feature that layout but it'll be a LOT dearer than this one, so realistically that's the big draw for this controller. The only other licensed peripheral that isn't first party is the Razer Raiju but that's got the PS4-style layout as well.

So yeah, not for everyone, but definitely a cool controller!

    • Actually, the Hori Onyx also offers an xbox style layout, is wireless, and is much cheaper.

However, having owned both the Onyx (which I now use) and the Nacon, it is clear that the Nacon is a more premium controller.

But I chose the Hori Onyx because it was wireless, at the expense of the solidness that the Nacon provides.

True, forgot about the Onyx — that one came out after the Nacon and the Raiju dropped!

  • Waiting for the Scuf Vantage pro controller to be sold in Australia

  • Looking for a controller to use with pc with both functionality for wired or wireless but main feature would be it has everything including extra buttons or maybe even touch pad sensors or areas.

Basically need more space for keybindings or just extra functionality.

Steam controller is good for now but less than 10 buttons is not enough including all triggers and X Y A B and back buttons I am pretty sure there is huge potential to fit more.. I would not even mind a larger controller or monstrosity with like maybe overlapping wings or extensions for places to add the buttons or stuff.

If there is one thing I have learnt is you can never have more space or place for more macro keys or keybindings.. everything extra can be easily used

(just bought VoiceMod the other day and oh boy my simple plain normal mechanical keyboard has never run out of space so fast keybinding all the funny meme sound features and sound bites / sound boards to all my Function keys and lock keys.. considering using my numpad section but then I would lose simple numeric functionality while playing said game unless I want to activate all my sound bites haha lol at the same time rofl lol haha)
