I am currently on Aldi Mobile, but I've used Catch Connect before. Is there any way to land this deal without getting a new phone number?
Here is my experience with Catch Connect. I do a lot of porting in and out of phone carriers mainly using Kogan for a month on one of their crazy cheap specials like 99c for 32GB then port to Catch for 90days, then back to Kogan and so on. I do it for our whole family and save us probably over $1000 per year total. The Catch name is a good one for them becasue once they "Catch" you, they have a habit - not always - but frequently, of holding up and port-outs. This should not be a problem between Catch (optus) and Kogan (Voda) but they do it regardless. It took me 6 days to get my wife's service out from them last month. So buyer beware. One way is to port out 5-7 days early and be sure of getting it done in time for no outbound service. I did complain to TIO and it did action the result pretty fast but there is a quirk: Catch don't care because they are the losing and not the receiving carrier. Its the receiving carrier that picks up the tab for any TIO complaint I was told (by TIO). So perversely they hold up your port out and they don't get hit with the complaint charge! The funny thing is if you port in to Catch, the ports can be incredibly fast. My last port in a few days ago too 90 seconds!
