any knife expert can comment on this knife for everyday use? cheers

  • non-stick knife …. hmmm

i think it's pretty easy to clean a knife

maybe the non stick part also refers to things not sticking to it during cutting

  • I think the indents on the blade are the non-stick technology, otherwise everytime you sharpen the blade the non stick would probably break and crumble off

I got a Victorinox Santoku for not much more than this during an eBay sale. I know which I'd prefer.

    • They are great knives, I bought the forged version last time from here ($60), really good quality, not sharp as Japanese knives, but still very good.

If you see these santokus about $25 for sale, it would be a bargain, I wouldn't mind grab another one :)

  • If you sharpen it it'll loose the nonstick coating, damned if you don't. Woll are they thinking?

    • Nonstick coating is ment to make stuff slide off the side, think potatos, cheese ect.

      • So, it never needs sharpening!?

        • I never said that? Lol

  • Shipping fee is 50% of price, for me it almost kills this deal.

The postage is a cheap option when purchasing a number of knives from the collection. We also offer a click and click facility from our Warehouse in Wangara, Perth Western Australia.

  • Hey OP, can you elaborate on the steel? "Japanese Steel" doesn't really mean anything. Is it high carbon stainless (VG10/VG5/10A) or something like molybdenum? I'm going to guess if you don't list the steel it's a cheaper stainless.

    • Hello, the knives are made from Japanese Carbon Steel. Thank you for your enquiry.
