    Hello OP,

    Just wanted to see if this could be made to work with a 2010 Subaru Liberty with McIntosh sound/NAV system (this has an amp under drivers seat). I don't mind losing the amp if I have to.

The car comes with a factory fitted system with navigation, reverse cam, supporting 10 speakers along with displaying vehicle performance stats.       You will need a radio specific harness and patch (APP8KE4 and APJVCPL) as the only inclusion on the kit was the steering wheel control harness and the facia.

    Just how/good are these in direct or even partially direct sunlight? IMHO on paper this what I think is good:

    1. Android Auto
    2. Wifi Mirroring (if your phone supports it). I think Kenwood was pioneering this tech before JVC purchased them out. I've seen very few other companies have this.
    3. Japanese company designed electronic.
    4. Not really a +ve per se but I seem to prefer wired Android Auto over wireless, the flexibility of point 2 also makes it a moot point. Wireless Android Auto I'd imagine would drain the heck out of the phone battery.
    5. Still has CD input…the Sony XAV AX100 doesn't. Dying tech but a nice to have I guess. Sony's Double DIN is really a single DIN with a Double DIN fascia.

    Drawbacks:

    1. capacitive Touch Screen. Not a real big issue as you really
    2. Not sure how great the screen is in direct sunlight. Most LCDs are pretty shocking in direct sunlight - even my LG phone is pretty hard to read off in direct sunlight.
    3. 1.5A output for the charge would have been great if it was 2A (I think most fast charging requires 2A).
    4. Personally I need to step down the input for my reverse camera back down to 5.5V (I think this goes for most Toyotas as well).

      Yes, it is suitable but you will need a facia for your car based on aerpro's recommendation.

      A dealer told me the head unit alone is $3500 for them to order in the stock from factory, said you should definitely look at installing something after market t will be cheaper and better.

      No,the mic comes wired with around 2 metres of cable.
