There was a sign at my local but think it said only valid before 4pm?

    • Just going off the website, there is no mention of time.

    • also saw that at my local

    • Now says before 4pm on website

      • Wow, that was quick.

And this is why Red Rooster is/will soon be irrelevant.

They can't do any proper deals.

A simple $2 chips deal, and they STILL need to put in a ridiculous before 4pm rule to it.

Please liquidate everything and get out.

      • Other fast food companies do the same thing.

Do they? Like who, and what deals?

          @drose1:

Domino's thick shakes discounted only between 3 and 5.

        • -1

          @Scab:

I dont think Red Rooster's chips are competing with Domino's thick shakes.

Hungry Jacks, McDonalds, and KFC - I've never seen them implement a time limit on one of their STAPLE items.

          @drose1:

You asked for an example, I gave you one.

And RR used to have time limits promos years ago.

@drose1: $5 small McFeast or McOz meals at maccas end at 2pm (when they are running)

        • @drose1:

KFC regularly do small $5 meals that are only available until 4pm. Although I think they let you order them on the app at anytime?

apparently, "potatoes" are cheap these days…

  • Lunch sorted :)

  • Wot? Red rooter is still going?

    • I’m rooting for them.

      they do the best chips

      • Ok, I'll try. Don't think I've red rooted since the eighties. When they had that great song.

  • I remember years ago I made a comment here on ozb complaining about KFC not giving a time frame for their 9 pieces for $9.95 and about how inconvenient it was coming up to the drive-thru window and finding out then and there, soon after, they started giving final dates. I went to Red Rooster when they had regular chips for $1, I made sure I went well before 4pm, but was bitterly dissapointed when they said the offer is no longer available, so I just drove off.

Red Rooster chips are fantastic. Their seasoning is mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

    • tried it recently after a long time and was disappointed, didn't seem the same or nearly as good as a few years ago.

  • +3

Pair this with $3 McClassic deal if they are close

    • 5 bucks for burger and chips. Not a bad meal.

    • Small mc Oz meal for $5 is still my go to value lunch deal.. wonder when it ends? :(

      • Wot m8, didn't that deal end ages ago? I've been very sad about it!

        • +1

          Nope, still available.

        • @Porthos: I just went searching and found the post…. No wonder I didn't know, I am in QLD :(

        • @moneymoo: Ahh that makes sense. Wonder why QLD was excluded?

Red Rooster boys. Best chicken, gravy and chips in the country.

    • That's a pretty big claim for a struggling fast food chain.

      • The best ain't always successful ya know. Look at Apple products, are they successful? Are they the best?

    • Gravy is watery crap imho

  • Went to Red Rooster Beenleigh and they said they are not doing this. Wanted $3.50 for a small chips! Nothing on the website to say its store specific…does say "prices vary by regions"

Red rooster chips when fresh is the best of the take away restaurants.

They are struggling though with all the competition such as Nando's.

I use to have Red Rooster twice a week in Year 11 & 12. These days, maybe once every quarter or 6 months.

    • honestly i don't think Nando's is much competition since they are & always have been waaayy too expensive & more so than RR/KFC etc

      • +1

I agree that Nando is too expensive, but say a RR 1/4 Chicken and Chips is expensive too!

I do remember the good old days in the 90s- $2 1/4 Chicken and Chips!

        • yeah i used to get that all the time, sweet deal! So in today's money it would still only be maybe $6 yet they now charge about $11 i think for 1/4 & chips, unless they put it on $5 special, haven't done that for a fair while. Its like everything now though, the more you buy the cheaper it works out, too bad for us single losers lol

  • They should sell garlic sauce with there whole Chickens… probably one of the best ive had in a while

  • They don't look particularly large from the picture. How do they compare size wise to the KFC large chips of which I am intimately familiar?

    • seem to be about the same size to me, the trick is with both of them is to make sure they pull a shifty by only filling it 3/4 the way in the box.

      • i meant 'don't' pull a shifty lol

  • I have to say Red Rooster is underrated these days - they have such a unique and tasty menu, wish they were more popular!

  • I hear potatoes aren't very popular in this country

  • Do i need an app?

    • No app required, actually nothing extra is required.

Keep in mind that Red Rooster is the only one of the main 4 chains that hasn’t created an app for in-store orders.

  • I had a few of the loaded chips with gravy and the chips are very soggy every time

    • Too much gravy perhaps?

  • This offer is expired. Erina NSW are no longer honouring this deal.

  • I think this deal got replaced by the $5 half rippa deal. Reported as expired.
