Belong are also the cheapest for international calling. $5 for unlimited calls to 38 countries
Lebara - if you require international calls, and can wait for their frequent sales.
Not sure why the neg, $109 for 16GB/month for six months, unlimited Intl mins is pretty decent…
I've found Amaysim's offerings aren't that competitive since the major jump in data allowances that happened around Christmas. Also what annoys me with Amaysim and why I eventually left them is that when they make changes to a plan you have to actually log into online services yourself and opt for the updated plan, otherwise you just sit on the old plan. If you're even one day into the month you'll have to wait until the next month for your plan to be switched over. I don't want to have to set an alarm to check mobile plans each month to make sure I'm getting the best deal.
Jeenee are the same with this.
i think port in, port out is the best service that i have found so far.
Porting in my opinion is a horrendous experience. Sometimes instantaneous sometimes hours / days.
as long as you switch carriers every time, I've only ever encountered a 10 minute delay once.
What if you switch within MVNO's of a network for e.g. Aldimobile to Belong?
expect lots of pain and delays. possible issues with sms retrieval, and possible loss of service when the old mvno decides to close your account.
The best value for money is generally in the highest cost plans or prepaid. But they are for people who like losing money while burning 200GB on videos and not buying houses or something.
I basically swap providers cheap "new customer" deals eg. Kogan $5 for 23GB 30 days while looking for low cost plans such as Lebara $89 for 5GB if possible for convenience.
I have self imposed limit of $15 per month on mobile but I aim for $5 even if it means taking 1GB a month which is probably too low for many people.
Coincidentally the front page has both these provider examples:
I must be an exception because I buy houses and have 200gb plans and also eat smashed avo. I did this by getting a higher paying job.
Do you need a boyfriend …Or boyfriend?
How is Jeenee? they have $10 a month which I'm thinking of putting my oldies on.
Got their 10 gb plan for $22.5 which is good value. No so fast sometimes but i don't wander the streets like a moron streaming HD so it doesn't bother me.
I am happy with the Telstra deal I am on - the Google Pixel 2 deal from a while ago. Plan is $49 a month (after $10 discount everybody got) - total cost of $1,176 over 24 months. I sold the phone straight away for $1,000. Means I am essentially paying $7.33 a month for 20gb of data. I also get free Apple music for 6 months on my iPhone - that would normally cost $11.99 a month I think? Take this value off the $7.33 a month and it works out to about $5 a month.
The thought of porting back and forth to different carriers each month sounds horrible. I am glad I don't have to do this.
I'm in awe. You've reached Zen level saving here.
I want to learn what you can teach.
Which phone are you using?
An iPhone I already owned before signing up for the deal.
Aldi's $99 365 day all you can eat mobile Telstra calls and text …Data is 12 GB, for the 12 months, and you can do an add on if required. Just look at the terms and conditions for add on's.
The $99 pack is on sale for around a week from today.
Does this mean that the Aldi plan is 100% equivalent (in terms of service and quality) to a plan directly with Telstra?
No, Aldimobile shares Telstra's 4G network but not the fastest parts of (Telstra 4GX).
Ha, I'm lucky to get 3G with my current provider. So 4G would be super awesome in comparison.
Is this the only difference between the two? If that's it, I'm IN!
As you can see from the answers, the question is like "what is the best value car?".
if you need lots of data, or just a little, if you are prepared to port about, if you want prepaid/postpaid, need international, want to bundle a phone, need coverage on non-metro, the answers are all different.
I'll always say Belong. Used to be a porter to get the best deals but this is so much easier.
Surely Belong is the best value for money, though I still haven't switched from Woolworths mobile.
I'm with Kogan on the $17 7gb plan which is expiring soon. No real issues except no international roaming.
The premium international call pack is only for dialling overseas.
My question is what's the best value plan that also has an international roaming option?
My wife and I switched to the Kogan BOGOF plans earlier this year. I think it works out at $12.50/month for 7GB. More than enough data for us and decent enough reception.
Kogan for best value and long term peace of mind.
Honestly their only drawback is that you can only stack 12 months of prepaid but for now it's worth it.
As for short term the Amaysim plan from Groupon at like $10 for 6 months was the best.
Looking for a really long term cheap plan now or one that can stack the highest for easier convenience.. Long term set and forget functionality is the greatest.
I haven't been keeping up the last month but the best value plan for low-data-users was Belong's $10 plan due to data banking and transfers.
Amaysim and the traditionally better value Optus MVNOs are falling behind without data-banking.
I'd actually prefer if they'd start dropping the prices of the cheapest plans to $5 with little data but allow data banking.
