Wesfarmers own Kmart. Im surprised they havent carried over a model where atleast 1 major bunnings store in a capital city becomes open 24/7 with restricted entries so its easier to manage. The amount of times you'll be doing something at night and need a tool or materials only to find out Bunnings is closed at 9pm or 6 and 4 on weekends is a bummer. What do you think?
Should Bunnings Have a 24/7 Location in each City?

Didnt think of this… But sounds reasonable. Ive seen my local one being stocked up during business hours with forklifts and the like.
There's certain sections during the day where forklifts are allowed to run, however in the customer accessible areas, forklifts shouldn't be running during opening hours at all..
If forklifts are required during operating hours to bring down top stock the aisles are closed for customer safety and only for a short time.
So is that when all their staff work? Any time I need assistance there is only 1 person with a queue for them
Imagine if they opened 24/7… a bit like Kmart, there will probably be no one.
I go in the evenings and the nightstock staff are in full swing.
why on earth would you go to Bunnings after 9pm??
To buy shit, obviously.
In case you need a shovel and plastic sheeting to bury something at 1am.
Graveyard shift… good point.
Probably for the same reason as to why IKEA is open until 9 p.m. every single day including weekends (in Rhodes and Tempe)
Sure but a shovel becomes a SANDIG and the nearest they have to plastic sheeting is a FRAKTA…
After work?
Generally to sniff paint !
If Bunnings want to make money why don't they do a deal with UberEats to deliver Snags 24/7.
can you imagine telling your work colleagues: i wanted to do some home repairs so badly last night, if only Bunnings are open 24/7! xD
I could see them having either an area or smaller store of just emergency gear like plumbing supplies , liquid nails etc
Even if they closed the nursery and timber yard like they have off to the side of most, then kept the rest open.
i think the sausages would get too charred if they had to be on the bbq all night. I could see a bit of a snag rush for drunk people if it was located near a pub tho
Nah. I'm happy to not hear my neighbour's tinkering away at all hrs of the day.
This is a great idea, i would def use this!
The concept is a good one but unfortunately it isn’t practical. When Bunnings closes, the replenishment team springs into action. Forklifts are able to be effectively utilised without having the concern of customers and stock is moved around freely.
