  In the past I've grabbed a few free books and found that they are rather shit.

  I get the feeling the authors write a shit book, put it out there for free which people download in the thousands without ever reading then. The author then gets to claim when applying for jobs that they are an expert in the field as they have published books.

  These free books here might be good, but I wonder how many authors would be 'published' pre-Amazon days when there was a significant cost to be published.
