There is no need for new cables for hdmi ver2

    • So I'm a bit confused, i thought cables were 2.0 as well as some dont support higher bandwidths? So how do i tell what supports high bandwidth then?

      • +1

A certified high speed HDMI cable should support all HDMI v2.0 features.
You can get Premium High Speed HDMI certified cables but they may be just the same High Speed HDMI cable re-certified under the Premium HDMI Cable Certification Program https://www.hdmi.org/manufacturer/premiumcable/Premium_HDMI_…

        • Cool thanks, so basically I'm looking for High Speed or Premium High Speed cables?

        • +1

Yep, the premium certified cables tend to be sold at a much higher price, officeworks has high speed HDMI cables for a good price.

          Great thanks alot.

One last question, does a >3M cable exist? It seems all the 5M cables can't do the 2.0 ?

        • +1

Most retailers should have 3m cables, the 5m high speed cable at officeworks @ $8.88 should work with 2.0 features, and being a b&m store, if it doesn't work return it as it does work to the required specification.
The suppliers website states that it works with 4k resolutions and supports 18Gbps which is what is required for HDMI v2.0.
