pretty decent deal that's legit and not a mistake like the professional edition few months back ($350). might bite the bullet and get one

    • They did honour the professional one though. Also assume the professional one has some different innards.

  • there is no afterpay option when i check out…..
    what should i do ?

    • +5

Okay, i was able to purchase but what i did was go in to a browser in Incognito or private mode and check out as guest.
Then I could see the after pay option.
Not sure but its something to do with my account. Hope that helps others.

      • Thank you, it works

  • just purchased one - thanks OP

    • Having same problem. Can't see afterpay option.

      • Do you have anything else in your cart? After pay is only eligible on particular items.

        • No just the dyson.

        • @mr chow:hmmm, i'm not too sure then!

Even a parlux is only $180… They last for around 10 years and all professional salons use them.

Actually the comparison would be GHD Air vs Parlux vs Dyson supersonic.

More wattage from GHD and Parlux. Dyson - 1600 vs 2100w
GHD and Parlux are Professional use only.
Quicker to dry hair due to more wattage from GHD and Parlux.
Is the Dyson worth 2.5 times the price? Hell no..
The Dyson is more lightweight because the motor is in the handle, if you have really really long hair, this might be something to consider.

    • Between GHD Air vs Parlux vs Dyson supersonic, which one do you think is the quietest one? thanks

      • +1

They both make a fair amount of noise however the Dyson is higher pitched than a GHD or Parlux. db wise they would be similar but different pitched.

        • Thank you, I bought a VS SASSOON 3Q Brushless Digital Motor Dryer a year back for about $80, I think it is the most noisey hair dryer I have ever used.
Now looking to upgrade and willing to spend more to get the quite hair dryer

          @Fancy:
Most VS products are quite commercial. With whichever you pick it's a cut above, maybe check out some reviews to see which you might like better.

If it's afterpay you need shavershop price matches and provides this service and has all 3 products. All 3 have ceramic motor, noise about the same, release negative ions and coolshot. Parlux comes with a 1 year industry warranty though, that means it covers using the dryer 40 times a day all day.. Dyson has a commercial 2 year warranty.

    • Off topic but you seem to know your hair appliances. Which hair straighteners do you recommend ? Thanks

      • Muk 230-IR.. we all know what GHD did to their hair straighteners lol

But if you want to ever do GHD curls then you'll of course need a GHD.

        • What did GHD do to their hair straighteners?

    • 1600 is plenty. The highest fan option is TOO windy I only use middle option because top option is like a jet engine. Also if it's too hot your scalp burns! Definitely warm enough.

    • I bought my wife a GHD Air and it sits in the draw out of favour vs her $50 Xiaomi Smate.
I got it as a joke because I love Xiaomi products and I didn't think she'd love it as much as she does.
Everyone who uses it says its amazing but it looks straight out of the 80s though.

So you don't need to spend $180 either but horses for courses.
There is so much brand tax associated with these products, milking this whole makeup/fashion blogger market dry lol

    This deal blows

HeartFeltAxe: Thank you Captain Obvious ;p

    • at least it doesn't suck

oh my,wont let missus see this deal today..

I'm sure it's a superior hair dryer, but nearly $400 for a hair dryer? Come on!

  • "Cashback will not be paid in conjunction with any other offers, vouchers or discount codes unless listed on this page. This includes staff discounts, student discounts, gift registry, and other 3rd party offers."

    Isn't the afterpay a 3rd party offer ? If so doesn't that mean 10% CR doesn't apply?

    • You can always use the 7% cashback from shopback to be on the safe side. Their email is promoting the afterpay discount with conjunction with cashback.

Hi ozlegacy. Afterpay is fine. In fact we have it advertised on today's banner.

      • +1

Thanks for confirming but you have to agree your description on the CR site is misleading as this is most definately a 3rd party deal, and I didn't see the banner until you linked it above

  • dont forget if your holding another passport and flying out soon, you'd be able to claim tax refund~ :x

    • +1

dont forget when you return declare all goods over $900 ;)

  • +3

I just use a ryobi heat gun from bunnings

    • +4

Not nearly as effective as the Ryobi leaf blower though

  • +1

If this is as good as the Dyson fan or Dyson vacuum cleaners, then don't buy it. Gimmicky plastic junk. Their $200+ desk fan was one of the worst products I have used on my life. Buy a parlux for $180 as mentioned above.

    • +1

Totally agreed. People say Apple are bad on OzB, but Dyson gets eaten up. Just basic vacuums, that aren’t best in their class but are really expensive.
      Interesting tear down here: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=j-vJxez9UF8

      • What's the better cordless vacuum?

  • +1

Save your money. It's nowhere near as good as you would want it to be at that price.
I bought one for my wife for mother's day, she originally loved it, however, I think that was the novelty factor as she's gone back to her old one now.
They claim it's super quiet, it is, but it's not very powerful as a consequence of that. It does look nice though so I guess it's got that going for it…

    • +1

Yep its a ridiculous amount of money for a hair dryer. Having bought Dyson fan/heater and cordless vacuum's in the past can only suggest that there is much better value elsewhere.

  • +2

I’d just leave my hair wet and save $399.

  • i know there is a lot of negative comments here but my MRS absolutely loves hers.

    • +1

      does urs vibrate 0_o

  • Where can I price beat/match this and buy it in store?

    • Bought mine at an expo for 25% off so only 375 delivered. They go to a few inc ones u wouldnt expect like good food and wine and baby expos. If you can get yourself to one?

  • I don't get these new Dyson range of products. What's wrong with how my fan and hairdryer were working? If you're going to spend millions of dollars to reinvent the wheel, at least make it significantly better than the wheel.

  • -1

Thanks, ordered one. Overpriced but it's a gift.

I don't really want to rely on automated payments and run the risk of a $10 late fee - are there any downsides to just paying the remaining 3 installments straight away?

    • It appears not, as I just manually completed the other 3 payments
