Which Is Better BMW X1 or Camry in Used Cars?

Hi Folks,

I am confused for buying my first car , as I like BMW X1 and Camry both.I am looking only used cars within ~15k. Need your genuine suggestion in this. Also if you can help me which car has more servicing cost, maintenance cost, fuel economy, good for long trips?

Suggestions needed for any other cars within this range as well.

Camry all the way BMW's service record is poor. You'll be forking out a lot

if by "better" you mean "better at costing lots of money in servicing and parts" then the BMW X1.

  • I would also choose the Camry because it has good reliability and cheaper maintenance costs. I recommend checking out the Mazda6 and Mazda CX-5, which are similar to those cars. Mazda cars are more refined than Toyota and the maintenance costs are not much more. Generally, medium or large size cars or SUVs ar more comfortable for long trips because they absorb the uneven road better than smaller cars.

Which car has more servicing cost, maintenance cost, fuel economy

If asking this question, dont even consider the BMW.

If the BMW will give you a confidence boost it could eventually butterfly effect into a promotion at work, which means more money.

    • give you a confidence boost

      X1 a confidence boost? Tiny suv they’re.

Camry on the other hand shows reliability, maturity and sense of toc awareness.

    • Yes but you will need to spend at least $80k to make it a worthwhile investment

  • Quite different vehicles. What do you want to use it for? Do you need a wagon or will you not haul up any big stuff and a sedan will do. How many passengers, what sort of trips?

Camry for bland but reliable city commuting. X1 might come in handy for carting bikes/dogs or mild off road.

      Millennials…

Can't wait for next week's post detailing another two cars to compare… Hopefully they will be complete opposites like this one.

  • I'm guessing you haven't read any other automotive threads before posting this question..
