Using amex points to fly to Vancouver

My partner and I have approximately 130,000 AMEX points each and are looking at going to Vancover in Nov/Dec this year. We have the Amex Discovery cards so will have the $400 Travel credit each available. My question is what points conversion is better, should we use the Amex travel portal, transfer to virgin points, kris flyer miles or another way?

Also happy to just buy gift cards for general living expenses if there is a cheaper way of paying for flights in cash.

    looks to be 120k Krisflyer to anywhere in NA in economy. IMO not a great use of points though.

      Singapore doesn't fly to Vancouver.

      See if the Amex portal will allow you to book BNE to YVR direct. If you can convert to Qantas points, they do fly to vancouver now.

    Best way to get to Canada with Amex points is Cathay. Can also have a stopover in Hong Kong.
    Like the poster above, I wouldn't waste it on economy.

    I assume your travel credit has an expiry date so I would try and use that first. You can save your points for another time.
