It's an older model on clearance, but it's a lot cheaper than elsewhere. Been a mainstay of Hitachi for a long time.

This is a great price for this sander but I would spend a little more and get the Makita bo6050j just for the dual mode alone. Then you will have the option of course, fast sanding vs fine, slow sanding.
Yep, agree with getting a dual mode unit, Bosch Blue GEX150T is another, Festool Rotex models are others if you have deeper pockets.
One mode for coarse rapid stock removal, or for polishing; other mode for fine finish sanding.
Very effective and versatile units, just more expensive than one trick ponies.
I wanted the festool ro 150, I just couldn't justify spending >$1000, so I settled for the Makita. So far I have been very happy with it… But I have never used the festool, i'd assume if I used it I might be less happy with my Makita.
They are one of the best orbital Sanders for the price cheapest ive see is 294 on ebay
