  • Does the vacuum on these really work or is it a bit of a gimmick?

    • I have an older model, so take my comments with a grain of salt. It'll catch some, but not all, of the hair. Bear in mind that that hole for the vacuum (at least on mine) is quite narrow, so if you let your beard grow long and then cut it all off in one go, you'll clog the hole and it won't catch much.
That said, it's always got plenty of hair in it after a trim.

    • I received one as a gift. It does reduce the mess and catch a portion of the hair, however there is still a mess. It's probably just catching hair that happens to fall inwards - I doubt the vacuum has a massive effect to be honest.

    • I've got an older model and think it's fantastic. the 'hair bin' fills up every time I use it, but it doesn't catch all the trimmed hair. I'd say maybe 70-80%. Chuck down a newspaper over your sink for the remaining hair that falls and you're good to go.

    • Works pretty well for me.. I don't trim a full beard mind you.. just use it when i've got half a week to a week worth of growth to trim down to 0.5 - 1.5 mm. I find it collects the vast majority of the hair, compared to my previous standard design trimmer.

I'm a bit ocd so it takes me a while to clean all the hair out of the little receptacle though.

    • I have the 5000 series. It's completely waterproof so you just rinse it after use. No hair left. No mess. This model's blades are waterproof but you can't wash the vacuum chamber. So you can't actually wash the part that collects the hair. And as it doesn't collect all trimmed hair, you still need to wash your sink or whatever you trim over. Personally that's a fail for me.

    • It reduces mess, but not all. I got a tap with a retractable hose to quickly rinse those suckers down the sink.

  • pretty crap effort from binglee this time

  • How is this for head hair. Not the sucking but the cutting.
