  • dupe.. think its slightly different price though. actually might be different (possibly not as good) as the other one was the deluxe, this is only the "starter"

  • I bought it as $20 couple months ago… still need to connect with cover, the board is going to power point… what's the point ? not too innovative. mm

    • you have a point, i returned mine as well after playing with it for 1 min when i realised I could just plug in my device directly :-/

      • yeah have a look at the original post, thats what we where saying, whats the use if you have to plug it in anyway, some phones have skins which seem pretty cool, but some just have adapters which pretty much makes the unit redundant…

      • so you went and bought something without knowing what it is? Or you just thought that any phone can be charged wirelessly without adding extra hardware?

        • Yeah maybe I should have done more research on it.

Though the idea of it was nice, you add that extra clip thing and charge it, and for something that cheap it was worth a try even if you didn't know exactly what it did.

But if you purchase something from Officeworks, you can return it if you're not completely satisfied. And I wasn't. Many people probably weren't either.

  • Would be better if you could just buy the round connector, as, although they give you extra tips, you can only charge one item at a time.

BTW, it has been on sale for this price for a while.

  • How's the charging time compared to "normal" charging?

  • +3

i got a few when they were $20, they actually are quite handy if you are a gadget-y sort of person, mine sits under my tv/ps3 and with all the different tips, if someone needs to charge their phone, or if you have a device that charges by usb only it cant be handy, instead of having to boot up a pc or laptop anytime i wanted to charge eg my tomtom, i can charge quite a few different things.

    • ine sits under my tv/ps3 and with all the different tips, if someone needs to charge their phone, or if you have a device that charges by usb only it cant be handy

Your PS3 and possibly your TV have USB ports. You can use these to charge USB devices

    • RE: kenikat

Agreed. I bought 3 Packs just for the power discs.
I have the charging pad in the kitchen with the tips and discs nearby.

When friends /family come over they can just pick up a tip and power disc and charge away.
So it's basically a base/power station for all our mobile devices.
The benefit is that I can charge upto 3 devices using one electrical socket and the only cable is the one from the power pad

Thankfully we don't have any iPhones, although I do have the iPhone case that came with the full pack.

  • I do not see the point of these as you still need to plug the device to the cable which is connected to the 'wireless' charger.

If you have an iphone you can get the charging cover however you need to put that on every time you want to charge the phone or carry around a large charging cover all the time.

These are just another thing people will leave plugged in wasting power as they are not being used most of the time.

For wireless charging the Palm Pre looks good as it is built in http://www.palm.com/us/products/accessories/touchstone-techn…

  • This is really misleading when i saw the advert of the unit being able to charge the devices wirelessly. Actually, it requires some forms of connector which then cost more to buy. there is no wireless here. You need a connector (this bundle comes with one connector meanwhile you can only charge one device at a time.

Don't be too suprised. I has this price tag since the first day this package come in OW. It is a combination of two boxes if you buy them separately one of them costs $19.99 and the other cost more. I can't remember exact amount…It simply because they can not sell it therefore they made it a bundle to get rid of it.

At the same place (OW), there was a different bundle that had a larger pad. the original price tag at OW was $179 then i went on clearnce for $29. I am still not convinced to get those as they are just taking up space in the house…..I always charge my phone…MP3 player…….thru USB port on a PC which runs 24hrs anyway.

You know why i know about the deal and how it works…..cause I work for OW.

    • The pad should be the same size in both packs will check tonight as I bought both a couple of days ago

      • they are same size

  • the real advantage is that you can power several devices from one outlet, but yeah it seems expensive to do the same job as two double adapters!
ps as this is a clearance item, wait a bit more and the price will come down even further, who knows, in a few weeks time you might get one for 5 bucks! ;)

    • Actually i think they have gone up in price deluxe pack was 20 on clearance

      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/35966

and now is 29 go figure

      • I think there was heaps of demand at $20 - sent the price higher.
