  • wow
so many group deal sites now

  • omgosh.

  • I thought group buy sites are soooooo 2010. This is supposed to be the year of deal guide guides!!!

Btw I have also noted that Groupon/StarDeals have been advertising heavily on OzBargain (via Google). They are well founded company and I doubt many small operators can compete with them. Many have to cut the margins (down to 10%-20% I think) so maybe we will see more consolidation later this year.

    • yeah thats right Scotty. Groupon are one of the biggest Adwords spenders in the USA. They had 3 times the amount of subscribers as Living Social, but since Living Social started its Amazon partnership and Superbowl ads they've had to go into other media as well.

  • wow, you mean we haven't reached saturation point yet? O_o

surely there can only be so many players in this market… and while as a consumer i'm happy to consider any offers/deals that are placed before me, i don't see many decent deals coming from the majority of these group buying sites (of course this is all subjective / dependent on one's tastes and preferences etc). scoopon, spreets, cudo and ourdeal are about the only ones that have tempted me to part with my money.
