I'm now thinking of ditching my Sony MDR-1000XM2s for these. I've never found the MDR-1000XM2s very convenient and never wanted to make calls from them. Shame I didn't see this in time to list them on ebay with the free sellers fees.
FYI: 9hrs battery life would be a problem for long haul flights.
They have a dedicated cable to connect to the in flight entertainment.
I have these and they have fantastic audio quality IMO. They also work excellently for calls unlike the Sennheiser equivalents which I first purchased and returned. Paid $226 in points on the recent Qantas Sony sale though.
