Amazon Australia returns - Driving directly to the mailing point?

I want sent in a request to return an item bought from Amazon Australia and after seeing the address on the mailing label, I realise it's not that far to drive to. Has anyone tried and been successful in just going straight to the mailing point rather than having to pay for postage/delivery?

    What is the mailing point? If it's a PO Box or similar AusPost controlled facility, they will charge you for postage even if you drop it off at the mailing point.
