Attempting blind GPU BIOS flash...

I flashed my gpu firmware and am receiving a black screen. Don't have another gpu to re flash at the moment. Trying to use the Asus ROG bios to accept a MS DOS USB. Is there a way to hold a key down and force it to load from a USB? I also did a cmos reset and there are no bootable drives attached.

What kind of motherboard is it? does it have an onboard vga?

Also does have it have onboard graphics? (e.g. All intel chips except xeons do have onboard graphics and ryzens with G at the end do too). You need onboard graphics to use onboard vga, hdmi ect.

If you ended up with a black screen when you could see whats happening isn't it a bit risky to try and flash it while you can't?

  • Try plugging in a monitor with VGA cable to the motherboard graphics and turning it on, you may just need to update your gpu driver. (I had to wait to get out of the sinbin to answer you, sorry for the late reply).

  • @Shadako: I think https://forums.tweaktown.com/audio-and-visual/30875-gpu-bios… is the same situation as you are facing.

Hope it will help you in resolving your issue.

    Good Luck!

  • Oops… it's a b350f strix, no onboard graphics. I bought a quadro 380 to boot the system. My other option was to try booting into dos, verifying I was in dos via some sort of audio batch file eg. Beep, then running a bios batch file. Unfortunately, the ROG Bios needs about five options to be set to boot from USB, which I could not do without a screen.
