I own a pair of the Flex RN. A comfy and very light casual shoe, but I would definitely not use them as a proper running shoe if I was doing any meaningful. The massive grooves in the tread that give the sole its flex also pick up large stones.

  I disagree with that - I've have the 2016 version just about to nudge 500km elapsed distance (average run length of 12km+)
  
  They're perfectly fine for that distance and volume if it suits your running style, location, and feet.
