What to do with these Spare Telstra modems?

I just cleaned out my junk and came across 4 Telstra modems. Brand new in box. Gave 2 away but have 2 left.

They are the Telstra Gateway Max 2.

Is there any good use for these modems?

Are they worth anything?

I used to have internet problems with Telstra and every time I complained, they just sent me out a new modem lol.

Thanks!

Use as heater on cold nights. You can be surrounded on all sides by toasty routers that don't do things you might expect routers to do thanks to Telstra's firmware.

  • what kind of problem makes telstra send you new modem?

    • My internet kept dropping out mainly on tuesday afternoons/evenings. I called them up every tuesday a few weeks in a row and now i have 3-4 Max 2's like OP. They never really did any investigations.

      • same here. I got a bunch as well so planning to drop off at OW.

  • They are worth a few bucks on eBay and Gumtree, and probably on OzB's classified forum. You can ask the hackers on Whirlpool whether they want them for experiments. You can hack the devices yourself and improve their capabilities.
