Truly, GTA Online is free on PC. So, what do you pay Sony for? Additional security vulnerabilities? It's ridiculous.
There's a special PS Plus in game offer for those without a subscription - 15 months for the price of 12. You also get bonus GTA dollars, $1,250,000 within 7 days of purchase and then $200,000 each week for 7 weeks.
Good move (except for it only lasting two weeks).
For the time poor of us (ie: maybe 3 hours week gaming time on a TV), being forced out of multiplayer by unworthy PS plus fees sucks. If you're time poor, the free PS Plus games are not the ones you want to play. So PS Plus provides no value for a lot of people. Maybe when my kids are old enough to want to game, sure. But until then I'm the only one in the household and I cant justify spending money on, basically, nothing.
I wish I could pay for multiplayer in proportion to the actual bandwidth cost, that would be fair. And not have any other 'extras'.
