    5 Modes: High(500LM) - Middle(200LM) - Low(50LM) - Moonlight (1LM )
    For anyone wondering

    • Where does the 900LM come from then?

      • 900LM is the C8s. 500LM is the TG06S.

        C8s is High(900LM) - Middle(280LM) - Low(30LM) - Moonlight(0.5LM) according to Amazon.

      • -1

They said 5 modes but listed 4, I'm assuming that the 5th one is 900LM.

        • 5th one is strobe.

    Good spotting!

    so those with Amazon Prime.

    ThorFire C8s Flashlight $17.36
    ThorFire TG06S Mini flashlight $23.24

    • Thanks, added info to the deal.

  • C8's are a great form factor and this one looks like a good version.
For comparison, the similar Convoy C8 is approx. $25 or host only is around $20 from Banggood.
    Great deal.

  • Are those batteries available on Amazon?

    • +1

      Batteries are available, search 18650

Careful of repackaged cells. If it's over 3600mAh, then it's 100% fake.

You want to use the lower capacity ones with higher Amps otherwise it will get heaps hot during the 900lumen mode.

eVape purpose batteries are nice for this. Generally 15 Amp or more

      • +2

Have just sent TechAroundYou a msg to see if they can possibly do a deal on 18650s for us - as there seems to be a fair amount of interest in these torches and sourcing 18650 batteries.

        • +1

I did that earlier today, no reply yet! :)

I'm fairly certain their pricing is basically the best anyway? NCR18650GA @ $8.49 ea delivered (for 2 or more)

        • @Lukian:

Great minds think alike eh ?

        • TechAroundYou is where I ended up buying 2 batteries from funnily enough.

  • +1

I would also recommend getting a Liitokala-202 and some Panasonic 18650 batteries. Good and cheap setup right there.

  • Ordered one last time on Amazon - can confirm these are BRIGHT! :)

  • +4

for anyone looking for 18650 batteries, here is an aussie based seller on ebay that I get my batteries from for my vaping needs

    https://www.ebay.com.au/str/supersports600?_trksid=p2047675.…

    • TechAroundYou seems to be cheaper?

    • That’s who I get mine from, really quick delivery and always reliable,I won’t use anyone else

    • Me too. Supersports600 is deadly reliable and offers excellent turnaround.

Another good source of 18650s for the C8s is ALDI Power Tool packs. The 2Ah packs have five and the 4Ah packs have ten genuine Samsung 2000mAh Unprotected Flat-Tops which work perfectly in the C8s. The 4Ah pack frequently goes on sale for $40 so is a good way to get a heap of good quality cells for $4ea. Yes, they're 'only' 2000mAh but still a very good deal.

In case anyone else is interested, I recently purchased a 4Ah pack specifically to pull apart… unscrew the four screws then use sharp side-cutters and/or pliers to carefully pull/pop the straps off the ends of each cell Job done.

    • +1

Don't think these flashlights have low voltage cut offs. You'll need to be careful using these keeping an eye on voltage.

      Good find though

      • +6

Yeah, good point. I just went searching and found a few references to them having LVP built-into the driver circuit so any battery should do however I can't seem to find anything 'official' as such. Good to keep in mind until we know for sure though, cheers Plague. Oh and I absolutely don't take credit for the ALDI hack… it's been well known for a very long time… I just thought I'd post the pics so others can see how easy it is.

        • Thanks for your 1st comment, you just made me remember that I had an old laptop that's no longer of any use, so I just ripped open the battery pack & got 6 Samsung 18650's. They all seem to be holding charge, winning!

        • +1

@WatchNerd: Lovely :) Did the straps/tabs pull off the cells cleanly enough?

        • +1

@SteveAndBelle: Yes, just needed a bit of a clean up with a file to get rid of some small sharp points.

        • +1

@WatchNerd: Yeah, good to hear. So easy hey and is a way some people are recovering decent cells to DIY their own 'Tesla Powerwall' type house storage system.

    • It's not easy to get a clean removal. I have 4 cells pulled off my Samsung laptop battery. Genuine Samsung 18650. Works great in my 4000 lumens Pocketman XML T6 Torch

      • Yes & no. Definitely depends on how the pack was spot welded. The straps/tabs in the ALDI packs snap off pretty cleanly and I didn't have to do much 'cleaning up' to get the ends good enough to use as a stand-alone cell. I can imagine other packs are hell on earth though ;)

    • How do I get one of these power packs? Do they always have them in-store individually or do I have to purchase an entire tool with them during a "special buys" promotion? Thanks!

      • +1

They're sold in store as a separate item whenever they have their Cordless Tools in stock. They may also hang around a while longer after the tools have sold but possibly not for $40 and only until they sell out. I got mine a couple of weeks ago at the tail-end of the tool sale and there were plenty there so I'd say they'd still be there… but not sure about the current price sorry.

  • Would the ThorFire TG06S Mini flashlight be similar to this light https://www.amazon.com.au/ThorFire-Flashlight-Perfect-Batter…?

  • +2

I have the ThorFire C8s and the BLF A6 XPL. For general usage I would recommend the BLF A6. It has a much better beam pattern (not spot, not flood, in between) than the C8s which has a very bright small spot and then rapid fall off in brightness.

Also the BLF A6 is more compact and better in the pocket. However if you are after long range penetration the C8s may be slightly better.

    Cheers

What tint led in the c8?

  • Whats people's thoughts on This Liitokala Charger for only $11

    • Quite often you can pick up the 4 battery version (Li-402) for under $10

I have one and can highly recommend

  • Why is the TG06S more expensive than the C8S?

    • +1

A Li-ion rechargeable battery is supplied with the TG06, but not the C8S

Great find, I love these light-ning deals.

  • Got mine for $16.33 AU from the last deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/386072

    • Me too .. but still a great buy at ~$17 for those with Prime memberships or 30-day trial.

Actually ends up a cent cheaper than previous deal, at $16.32 after 6% CR/SB rebate applied.

    • +1

You can get it for $16.32 shipped with Amazon Prime & 6% Cashrewards.

  • For the love of god please let there be a nichia option in the next deal. :)

  • Thorfire C8s 88% claimed.

    ThorFire TG06S 100% claimed 30 minutes ago (~6:50pm AEST).

  • +1

Thanks, WN. I had another (different) torch that I bought from Banggood about two years ago, but this was hard to resist since I have already got two 18650 batteries and a charger. :)

  • Great to see more flashlight deals :) Hopefully acebeams and noctigons will come up

    • Yeah, we are in great need for quality lights. Those $3 deals just not cutting it anymore

  • I brought one last deal along with 2x 1850 Sanyo Li-on batteries and a Liitokala Lii-202 charger from Banggood. Torch and Batteries came within 10days (both separately???) The charger 31 days. However this torch is amazing, It is a "thrower" and better than the Led Lensar L7 for output - recommended if you want a versatile and well built item.

  • man wished there was some good Olight deals

That was fast shipping. I placed my ThorFire C8s order on Monday evening and it was delivered this morning. My only gripe with Amazon purchases is that the delivery drivers leave packages outside the door (I live in an apartment building) and can't be bothered to knock at the door/press the doorbell even if you're at home. I have had three Amazon AU deliveries in the last three weeks, and they did the same thing every time. Luckily not one of them was snatched, but I have this fear in the back of my head that one of these days packages will start disappearing. AusPost and Toll delivery drivers always make sure to hand stuff to me, even if no signature is required, but Fastway drivers for Amazon are beyond lazy.
