    Different brand, but 30 Varta AA's are around $10 from Bunnings … for those who pass near a Bunnings, the Varta deal looks better …

  To the store rep: I think that you're trying to generate interest with very common products decent but not fantastic prices. To be fair, the huge supermarkets and other large retailers will probably have that bulk-purchase advantage over you. Perhaps you could look at more niche items or quantities and encounter more success that way.

  Only last month in ACT Woolies, Coles and IGA were battling out specials in Energizer and Duracell 10+6/12/16 combos on either side of $9.
