    How do you get unlimited car wash at Ultratune? Do they have car wash machine like at Suttons, or are they hand washed?

      That sounds good. What is the turnaround time? Of course it may depend on the queue but assuming no queue, what is the wait time and what is the wash time? I hope I don't have to drop my car off in the morning and pick up the cleaned car in the evening.

    A gf got her car inspected at Ultra Tune in Sunnybank, QLD before road tripping around Australia. A simple inspection turned into a sales pitch/aggressive sale by Ultra Tune saying there were all kinds of problems with the car which was not road worthy and they could not release the car to her. They wanted $1,200 to service the car and pressured her to make a booking for a service. She called me for my advice and I told her to tell them she had a friend mechanic who could help her and that she would NOT make a booking for the repairs. She recently took it to Darwin via Cairns from Brisbane.

    My mum took her car to Ultra Tune at Browns Plains, QLD, for them to investigate high idling issues. After $120 they literally told her they found no faults with the car and the high idle was normal. Seriously $120 for the simple inspection. Absolutely nothing was adjusted. So I went around and turned the BISS screw closed with a screw driver and the idle went down. WTFBBQ??!?!

    on another note, most generic garages use really cheap oils

    just my experiences with Ultra Tune…

    I have used marrickville ultratune before. They are great no dramas they did a good job and gave a good car wash too. Def worth it

    Every ultratune I've dealt with have been scamming scumbags. Now I refuse to even think about going to one!

    Is this a "logbook" service? My parents are going to sydney for the weekend, and the Golf's first service is due in a few months, might be worth dropping the car off on the way back at this sort of price.

      No its not, the logbook service they do pales in comparison to what a dealer would do , also think about this the dealers do courses and training on your car especially if its new. Ultratune do general ie not brand specific

      Why buy a decnt car worth good money then save on the service, maybe its a good idea to buy a cheaper car and get the good servicing

        A 15,000km service in most cars is just a general check-up and oil change that any mechanic can do, it doesnt take special training to unscrew an oil filter and sump plug!! The thing to watch out is with some makes their roadside assistance is conditional on you using their dealer network for servicing….

        That said even ultratune will claim a log book service is more in-depth and not do it under this coupon.

        Oh and even though you claim dealers are superior, don't forget most of them use lowly paid apprentices to do alot of their servicing work ;)

          Agreed about the apprentices although those apprentices are actually trained by the dealer which is a franchise of the vendor, so still at least they have better training or checking of work than most others.

          sure knowing what to look for and finding the recall for the model etc using good oil thats actually recommended for that car

          Not all cars have an oil filter in an easy to get to place either..

    I bought this a couple of weeks ago when it was offered before. When I called up, I was told that the next possible appointment was in late April. I would hate to think what it'll be after this time.

    I'm almost thinking that they make their money by people just getting the shits and going elsewhere for their service.

    I reckon ur negs are pretty unwaranted as you have never been. I have taken my car there and they were honest they serviced it and cleaned it for me free of charge…

    I have been to other workshops and they have tried to put shit on me. These guys said straight up the issues and how long i would have til it needed fixing, I didnt fix any of it with them.

    Its a positive for a good deal and workshop, not sure where u saw it on tv but ultratune are a franchise.

    You can't trust Ultratune? Dude, you can't trust any mechanic. You've never been able to and you never will. If you go to an official dealer for peace of mind they will charge you 5 times as much.
