    Shockingly expensive

    • My favourite part about the types of products is how they stick out the port of the device making it really uncomfortable to hold and catch on everything.

    • @Science-teacher

I hope you know we offer a lifetime warranty.

    $AUD price in title, please

    1 cable $19 >.<

  • +1

$19 for a cable and you can only select one connector type? I'll pass!

  • After having about 5 of these when they first came out, I can honestly say that they aren't worth it. The connectors on the magnetic connectors (both on the tip and the cord) get extremely damaged over time.

They have a lifetime warranty but I'd much prefer just connecting the cord myself and getting the bend problems then having to change cables and connectors 12x as much (mine lasted about 2 months of heavy use, my cables usually last at least 2 years)

Having that shill Linus on the store page convinced me this is a ripoff

  • How much? Cheaper alternatives elsewhere… I wouldn't even pay that for a genuine Apple cable.

Tried mag cables before and the little button that hangs out of the device did my head in…

    Negging due to total rip…

*insert obligatory banggood/AliExpress/eBay etc website links*

Edit: Just looked at the page and the front page says $16 for cable with 2 tips, but when I click on the item and it takes me to the info page, it comes up as $19. What's going on there???

    • @pegaxs

An Apple cable that can only charge a Lightning device and no other device such as Android Micro USB and USB C devices (cost $19), which also cannot last more than 1-year max when used heavily. On the other hand, Volta magnetic cable is cross-device (A single cable can charge an Apple Lightning and an Android Micro USB or USB C devices) and it also comes with a lifetime warranty.

Our website is hosted on Shopify and on the front page the price of the cheapest product in the collection is shown. The $16 product must be out of stock. That was why you were able to see the $16 product on the product order page.

      • I don't get what your first point is. A usb-c can't charge a micro USB or lighting connector either.

I have several cables here that was from my wife's iPhone 5s. They are years old and still work as well as the day I got them out of the box.

I have Blitzwolf cables here that I use for everyone at work and they get treated like crap and are still going hard well after 12 months. I'm not sure of their compared warranty as I have never had to replace one.

And I cannot find what item is $16 on the main page. So, please, let me know, what cable setup I can purchase that is $16…

        • @pegaxs Your wife's Apple cable made for iPhone 5s cannot charge any other types of phone with different ports like Micro USB or a USB C port.
Volta Cables are made to charge several devices regardless of their port orientation.

Our cables last longer as they are made of military grade materials and very few of our customers come back for a replacement.
The percentage of replacements we made in the last 1 year is very low (like 1 in 1000 cables).

So that you know that we are constantly improving on our cables on daily basis. so trust me, Volta cable is different from all what you have seen elsewhere.

Our Adapter also helps you convert your regular charger into a magnetic type. check them out and you will be happy with your decisions.
Here is a link to where you can find the $16 cables.

        • @VoltaCharger:

Lol @ “military grade materials.” So, these are MIL-SPEC, MIL-STD or MIL-DTL certified? Can I see the certification or is that “highly classified”?

And your cables are of such poor quality that they require daily improvements? You re-engineer your cable designs on a daily basis? Please, take me through the average day in the engineering and design section and what improvements they may do to a cable.

And how are they different from just about ever other mag cable connector in the market that sell for a fraction of the price you offer yours for? What makes your cabled “unique”?

And for the record, your cables can’t charge anything without the requisite adaptor. So your example with the iPhone cable is moot. You still require the adaptor on the end of your cable, or your cable is useless. My iPhone 5s cable charges my iPhone, my iPad, my iPad mini, then there are my wife’s and my kids devices. If I wanted to use your cables, I would have to buy an adaptor for each device or remove the mag adaptor each time. And if I want my iPhone cable to charge a USB-C device, I just buy a cheap adaptor, something that I would have to do with your cables anyway.

So, Just stop with the marketing hyperbole bullshit.

        • @pegaxs:
Thanks for sharing your perception of things.
We have thousands of customers who are happy with their Volta Cables and the lifetime warranty which is second to none.
What matters to us is making our customers happy. That's why everyone at Volta is working hard to make this happen.
          That's our view.

        • @VoltaCharger:

It’s not my perception, it’s based on what you said. You said that your cables are military grade materials. I wanted to know to what specification you used to determine that they are of military grade.

You also went on to say that they are constantly improved on a daily basis. All I asked was, what improvements do your cables require on a daily basis? I don’t want a Monday cable if waiting until Friday will get me a better cable.

As for your warranty being “second to none”, it is blatant marketing garbage. Almost every cable manufacturer offers a “lifetime” warranty. So, you are only offering what the market is already offering.

I am sure that every other cable maker on the planet only wants to make their customers happy. It’s what helps them sell more cables. The only difference is they can offer cables for a fraction of the cost you are offering yours for. They only people you are working hard to keep happy is the owner of the company by selling their over priced products to help pay for their mansion and fleet of expensive cars.

At the end of the day, you received a single, solitary upvote. I think this speaks volumes to what people think of your over priced cables.

My neg stands. People can buy equal quality cables that are a fraction of the price without the marketing garbage. Good luck on your next post.

        • @pegaxs:
We are a small company and no one ordered to do the marketing or sugarcoat things here.
We do it all by ourselves, every member of our team is part of the Volta Family.
Apple cables ranges in price from 24 AUD to 45 AUD.
one can decide to go and buy a random 1 AUD cable and be happy about it.
          Perception is everything.
With us at Volta, we deliver quality for a fair price and our customers/backers are happy about it.
Guess what, Lifetime Warranty at Volta is not a joke, we mean it when we say it.
Stay tuned, we are cooking something new and we will share them with you soon.

  • Expensive? Yes I guess.
    Stick out? Sort of.

As magsafe fan I got 3 (car, work, home) from some other place about 2 years ago and love them.
Beware: crappy versions are for charging only, and they are crappy in quality.
