470

Sonos Beam for $538 with free shipping.

I've been looking at getting this + 2 Ones and sub to replace my existing home theatre setup.

This is a great price for something that's only just been released (almost, comes out tomorrow which is only a few hours away) and is the RRP of $599 everywhere else.

About:
Sonos Beam is the smart speaker for your living room. Experience incredible sound while streaming music, watching TV and movies, enjoying podcasts and audiobooks, or playing video games. As part of Sonos’ home sound system, Sonos Beam supports more than 80 streaming services. Amazon Alexa comes built in with future support for multiple voice assistants including Google Assistant

    Nice find OP!

This seems like a lot to spend on a soundbar - good if you are renting or have very limited space, but you can put together a very decent 5.1 system for the same cost.

    • +4

Please list the equipment for this very decent 5.1 system for $599.

      • +3

To be fair, it's $599 + $999 for sub, plus $250x2 for ones. So it's really a $2k+ system, and for that, there are many more options out there right?

OP check out wineandsonos for the sonos one

Grabbed two of those vouchers already! Thanks though.

I'm wondering if this partnered with 2x Sonos ones and a sub would be better than the same setup but with a playbase?

    • +1

The playbase is meant to be better (more speakers), although it doesn't have the microphones for Alexa and the likes. Whether it's worth the extra if another question.

  • I had a setup of playbar + sub + 2xplay3 but the surrounds were not very loud for some reason so i revert back to play bar and sub only.

I think it has something to do with the optical link can't transmit 5.1 due to being developed with old stereo standard.

    • +4

You can tune the surround sound via the app.

    • You may want to check if your particular TV model passes 5.1 sound through optical. I believe it differs from model to model.

    Good deal.

I bought one from HN via chat for $560 including $30 HG gift card and case of wine. Picking it up today

We are doing the same price now too @ Addicted To Audio

Plus our other sonos prices will make the bundle great value ;)

    • Can you do a better price :D

Was thinking of heading into your Newtown store to grab one.

      • Well we would ship to Sydney and Melbourne express so nice and quick!

        • Don't you have a store in Newtown?

  • Already on sale, interesting for a newly released Sonos product to be below RRP already.

    • Think it's more a factor of Amazon and eBay both doing sales right now, so other retailers have to compete to get attention.

Lots of online retailers are selling this for $538

Price match them at JB Hi-Fi and pay with discounted (5%) gift card from Entertainment Book

    • +1

YMMV but JB woudln't price match this for me.

He harped on about it not being 'exactly the same product because whether you buy it or not it comes with extra warranty when you purchase through JB'. I really, really, didn't want to press the issue as I didn't really want to do business with them after the sales guy told me all this with a straight face.

Edit: They would only come down to $560

      • LOL that's a BS excuse.

  • Does anyone know anywhere in Brisbane I can walk in an pick this up for this (or similar) price?
