Damaged Box
1080p is good for games because it gives higher frames per seconds as it is less work for a GPU than a 1440 or 2k screen. It works well with 144hz for competitive gaming but not for much else as more pixels is generally better.
Dumbest thing I have read all day.
Want more fps get a better gpu. Simple.
It's only dumb if cost wasn't a factor.
You may also require a faster CPU, a more powerful PSU, larger amount of RAM, possibly a new motherboard to support the more recent tech. You could also adjust graphical settings.
@Jugganautx
No, you're dumb.
Using a higher res screen doesn't mean you can't game at 1080p (or lower) though… you can always just tweak the game settings.
No one said you can't… but running any monitor or TV at it's native resolution is best. They can be tweaked of course like you said, but if frames per second is what you are chasing, then a 1080p screen is still king for anyone playing/running 1080p. It's just money down the drain paying for extra oomph on a screen you'll rarely use.
24" curved monitor
Perfect for those with eyes 10mm apart
I thought similar until I saw a mate's setup. For gaming, it works.
The radius is perfectly suited for the normal distance you would sit away from it.
I'd rather a larger screen set further back, but for a limited space/narrower desk this is perfectly fine.
How well do these work with 2 or even 3 monitors setup ? is the curve sufficient to make this immersive ?
I checked on displaylag.com and this monitor has 24ms input lag. To give it context, most 144hz gaming TN panels have 10ms input lag. I was considering purchasing it but I'm unsure if the input lag willl be too noticeable.
Not sure where they got 24ms from, but other reviews have stated around 4ms input lag like this review which has a section on it: https://pcmonitors.info/reviews/samsung-c24fg70/
I have this monitor and it does not have 24ms input lag at 144hz.
Nice screen if you're happy with 1080p
