the company's previous pricing (including 'was/now' or 'strike through' pricing or by specifying a particular dollar amount or percentage saving)
the 'cost' or wholesale price
the competitor's price
the recommended retail price (RRP).
Businesses that use such statements must ensure that consumers are not misled about the savings that may be achieved.
Statements such as 'Was $150/Now $100' or '$150 Now $100' are likely to be misleading if products have not been sold at the specified 'before' or 'strike through' prices in a reasonable period immediately before the sale commences.
Such statements are also likely to be misleading if only a limited proportion of a product's sales were at the higher price in the period immediately before the sale commences. The volume or proportion of sales that may result in such statements being misleading will depend on the circumstances of each case.
The length of the period will depend on factors such as:
the type of product or market involved
the usual frequency of price changes.
If a business has a policy or practice of discounting goods when not on sale and uses two-price advertising in relation to sale periods, there is a significant risk that the use of two-price advertising will involve conduct that is misleading. The business would be representing to consumers that they will make a particular saving if they purchase the item during the sale period, when this is not necessarily the case.
Similar considerations apply to the specification of dollar amount or percentage savings such as 60% off."
So as they were selling at a lower price previously then raised the price to offer the discount it is a clear breach.
Yep but Ebay offering the discount, not the seller. so they can get away with it. Seller just increase the price.
It doesn't say Was $150/Now $100. It says, $150, but now you can get it for 25% off using the coupon code.

What you think about pcbyte adding $20 postage and reduce the item price, so we get the benefit. Politically incorrect but who cares we get the benefit.
Do they have the colour laser multi-function one?
I've got the 2703DW which is close to this printer. The only problem with it so far has been that the LCD screen is so bad you have to put a torch on it to read it unless the light is perfect.
This one has a better screen.
That would be more comparable to the 2713, the model OP posted is more comparable to the 2740 with a touch screen.
It is a different toner cartridge too. Ignore me.
Cannot support this Ebay seller due to price jacking. Had two Brother toner units in my cart last night, both have been jacked by ~12% today. And they have slapped a big fancy banner on their product photos displaying the proxy promo!
They normally sell them $212-$215 at this store… So it's not really 25% off with the code.
