Cathay Pacific is joining Qantas and Virgin and have dropped their prices on Sydney to Hong Kong Flights. Travel in August 2018. Flights are direct to Hong Kong.

You did not miss anything by NOT flying them. Had a really bad experience with their Brisbane airport staffs only 2 months ago, if price similar fly other airlines.

I stopped flying with CX after they introduce the non-reclinable seats, but apparently they have gotten rid of them so I am looking to give them another go

those seats still appear intra-Asia on short haul flight but are being phased out. I use CX a lot SYD/MEL to HKG and they all recline normally in Y.
Brisbane Airport is just horrible all round from Customs to Immigration.
The airport staff is contracted out and the staff represents multiple airlines.
