I just noticed yesterday that the top of my mi A1 screen was popping up from the body. Upon further investigation (putting an envelope against the back) the body was not straight.
I am aware of the bendgate with iphones, still curious if this has occurred to anyone else for other phones?
The only difference glass would make would be that it would crack instead of bending. The frame is still metal and would bend, and the orientation of the glass - thin flat piece - means the extra rigidity of glass over metal isn't actually going to help any.
I don't have it in the back pocket when sitting. Must have happened in the front pocket with the wallet.

Most phones are happy to get their holes plugged.
Watch youtube channel Jerry Rig Everything, he talks about build quality on phones and reviews them, before putting them through the final stress test which is just trying to bend the phone with his bare hands.
About half of the phone he tests usually just crumple, which is what you'd expect since many phone manufacturers nowadays are making thin phablets.
I love watching that channel but at the same time it hurts me to watch it because invariably whatever he's testing gets destroyed.
It gives me pleasure since I cannot do this to my own phone or housemates :|
Yeah maybe best not to pass me your phones guys.. rip nvidia shield tablet but it was my first opening up of a proper tablet mobile device.. kinda.. was scared the battery might explode lol haha

I mean, its a flat piece of electronics, I imagine everything can bend with enough force, but there are websites that do the whole stress test thing (drop text, screen scratch test and bend test). Pretty sure a fair amount of them do, especially with aluminium bodies I think?
Biggest culprit seems to be having it in your back pocket, so maybe rearranging some things might help.
I do wonder whether the glass ones are better or worse for this?
