The new version should be out in about 2 months.

  • I've always wanted to know what photoshop elements was. I'm on the CC plan, the like $85 a month one (so much money makes me weep) that includes everything. I thought element was like photoshop lite or something.

    • Its more suited for basic photo editing in general with some Photoshop CC features like layers & PSD support but dumbed down. Most people don't need everything that CC has to offer and just need something to tinker photos with whilst adding layers & PSD support.

Saying that though I would much prefer a CC user interface with everything it doesn't have removed as I hate the way it performs in Elements

      • I only need two apps, two of the big three, but apparently getting the entire suite is the cheapest way to do it. If only I had a use for the rest of the apps.

Actually looking st the pricing it’s 72.59 for everything or 28.59 per app, if you pay a year upfront. Otherwise 108.89 or 43.99 per month. Plus photoshop gets its own super duper plan for 14.29 on 12 month subscription only. I find it best to try not to think about it too much. Just to stay sane. The all apps version comes with all the apps. The two I absolutely need plus all the rest.

Not to mention if you know a student you can maybe use their 12 month all app discount for like $28.59 a month. And it seems thexterms if the student license says after a year it will change to renew at 40% the full price (which is 72.59, so 43.99 per month). Maybe Adobe owe me some money.

        • What's the AustriaBargain's "big three"?

PS+LR+… for photos? Or the classic PS+AI+ID? Or PS+AI+PR for an all-rounder?

        • What two programs do you need? I am on CC and only pay $15 a month and that includes LR & Photoshop (which I would assume are the big two??)

Elements is not bad for basic editing and also (used to at least) have some good wizards for things like face swap. I got CC more for use with LR for catalog and organizing more than photoshop, and actually do most editing in LR and only go to photoshop for advanced things.

    • Elements is also now the only way to buy a non-subscription piece of software from Adobe.

When trying to purchase on website it opens the MS Store app. Will Cashrewards still count this?

  • Can someone explain how this differs from Photoshop or Lightroom?

    • Cut down version of Photoshop and completely different to LR. Is more user friendly for editing that photoshop with the use of wizards and the like but still has core elements like layers, can save to PSD… not sure about RAW support but pretty sure it has it.

  • An alternative to PS elements, you can get Corel paintshop pro every now and then for very cheap. I got x9 for $15 last year and it can handle external plugins like nik collection and particleshop.
Particleshop was bundled with X9 with 5-10 brushes.

  • Combining Amex Cashback

Is there any confirmation that this actually works for 'digital' Microsoft Store purchases?

    • I got the confirmation amex email straight away.
