Are all galaxy gear s3's the same, do you know? Is the frontier version different somehow. I know someone who needs one, mostly for the activity tracker, heart rate monitor, and so they don't miss calls or messages when their phone is playing music in another room. Has to water proof enough to wash wrists multiple times a day. But there's so many android watches and so many of them must be pure crap, I don't know what to recommend him. I know galaxy gear is one of the better choices, but is it basically the only choice when looking for an android watch that's as good as an Apple Watch?
i'm told tag heuer is also alright
I have the gear s3 classic, they are the same as the frontier except for in looks. Does what is stated, doesn't do a lot of thing as it's not android wear. Would prefer gear hardawre and android wear software but you can't have everything.
Austria, sounds like a sports band like the Xiaomi Mi band might be sufficient. Ticwatch E could also be all option, although I am not sure about water resistance. Gear S3 is good as well, but a fair bit more expensive.
What kind of battery life are you getting? How often do you charge?
usually it last me 2 day no problem , i have always on display, heart rate, wifi/bluetooth on all the time full brightness.
with heavy usage (a lot phone calls ) it still manage to last at least 1 and half day
all been without wearing the watch during sleep.
Wow that's great! I get 2 days out of my Gear s2 that doesn't have always on display!
Smartwatches. What a shit fad they were.
I remember reading in a forum once, someone said the exact same thing about digital cameras.
I have this older friend at work who told me she used to think the internet was just a fad and that it would probably die down haha.
Though personally I think they're going to have an upswing (could be wrong) but with Apple watch being fairly popular I would guess that Google brings out a watch (along with better android wear OS) with the new Pixel 3, which I hope resuscitates life to the android watch sector.
That is not red second hand.
That is not red stop watchy hand.
That is beam of light.
Technically everything that goes through your eyes is light, so it is a red second hand.
Gear S4 might be released on August 9th along with the Note 9. Might be worth waiting one more month.
For the price of this one to drop?
I have been using this watch since release and I love it. Add a black metal watch band and it looks excellent. If you use the always on display the battery lasts about 16-24 hours. If you turn it off you get a few days out of it.
The only real issue I have with the watch is Samsung Voice. I went from an LG Android Wear watch to this. The LG watch had the early version of voice control but it worked great. Samsung Voice is rubbish. This is my usual exchange with Samsung Voice:
Me: "Hi Samsung…. Hi Samsung… Hi Samsung… Hi. Oh it's working now. Set timer 20 minutes"
Then one of 3 things happen…
Gear S3: "OK. Setting timer called '30 minutes'. How long would you like the timer to be?"
or
Wheels spin for 2 minutes, Gear S3: "I'm sorry, I can't help you right now"
or
It actually works
But apart from Samsung Voice and the lack of apps compared to Wear OS/Android Wear, the watch is brilliant.
I would wait for s4, only reason it will have a better assist bixby. Not the Best but better than samsung s-Voice
I was just about to purchase this , and glad I didn't , the case size is the 32mm version , but I'm after the 46mm version , the size should probably should be in the description to save confusion.
Looked into this and Samsung doesn't offer different size options for the Frontier.
32mm is the screen size(1.3 inch), down further in the product specs it states: Physical specification
Dimension (HxWxD) - 49.0 x 46.0 x 12.9mm
Weight (g) - 63g
Thanks for clarifying that.
Mines been working flawlessly for almost a year now. Usually I use phone call, music track skip, email notifications, (ofc alone with all casual notices).
The strong point of this watch I have to say is battery life and how snappy it always.
Screen is awesome.
Virtually infinite watch faces, as you can create your own as well.
I havent used any other smart watch. So read it with Grant of salt.
Bad thing : limited apps, very limited. Tizen os snappy but limited….
10/10 would recommend to friend.
Still, do watch review and know exactly what function you want and bias towards. Don't treat it as delicated fitness watch, it won't do as good. And it is a bit pricy.
