"These devices have been opened to check quality or perform basic testing or unlock functions.
Some of them have had the plastic removed from the front of the device"

Why would they need to remove the plastic…. Are these returns ?

    • Yikes.

  • These devices have been opened to check quality or perform basic testing or unlock functions. Some of them have had the plastic removed from the front of the device, all the accessories are brand new. Everything in the box is new - never used. These come with 2 years Samsung manufacturing warranty. Please request an online PDF tax invoice after purchase.

Odd why these devices would need to be opened but with tax invoice and claims that it is an Australian unit the warranty should offer some peace of mind.

Great price for the S9 Plus.

    Edit: Beaten by 19 seconds

  • 100% AUSTRALIAN STOCK - UNLOCKED

There's a huge, i repeat, HUGE misinformation when terms local stock, Australian stock etc. Is used, it's still today mistaken for Australian model, for example Australian Samsung galaxy s9 plus model, in this case. Local/Australian stock can be an imported phone, it just means that its here in the warehouse, on this soil, not overseas…

    • Just wondering how they would go about issuing a tax invoice then, with the GST component included? Can stockists of grey stock now do this? I'm confused!

      • +1

Of course they can. Any registered Australian business charge should be charging GST, regardless of how they have sourced the product.

      • If they're selling it from within Australia they need to charge GST. Places like Kogan got around it by having their HK branch be the location and the seller, but that'll change now assumedly with the international GST changes.

    • That's probably why they aren't sealed.
To replace the charger with an Australian one.
Maybe to flash firmware as well.

  • what they said..

They also mention "Sealed in the box. From Telstra - not locked." for the sealed one.
Purchased earlier today and reached out to the seller regarding delivery and received a quick response.
$50 more for a sealed unit was a no-brainer for me.
    So far, so good.

New, never used means it’s not brand new.
What will be the good reason to tell you that the box is not sealed, has been opened. Don’t trust what they tell you.
I don’t want my brand new phone touched by anyone before me.
Brand new Galaxy S9 does need to checked, inspected, tested. Bullshit reasons.
They are already lying to us with the description, What else can you trust this seller.
    No worth the trouble.

  • Looks like the new Note (9) flagship that's going to be announced on 10th of August is making sellers panic. Still waiting for Samsung Galaxy s Beyond in 2019.

Bought the Telstra sealed in the box one during the 15% sale for 891.65. Very happy with it! The item looked brand new (sealed with official Aussie Samsung power plug inside the box), registered the device on Samsung website with no issues :)

  • +6

Doesn't sound like the Australian model (or stock) to me. Preopening things to 'check' is common grey stock practice. I'm not entirely sure why but I assume its to change the power plugs or add adapters for Australia.

    • +1

Agreed, never seen australian stock model sold with opened box, only happen with grey import.

  • That is true Australian stock need not to be opened as there is no need for it ie the Au plug is already inside for an Au stock and no unlocking required.

  • Pretty cheap way to have all your photo's leaked ;)

    • TLDR.

      Troll thread or what?

  • Very tempted to jump on this with the positive upvotes but the comment section is making me hold back… Anyone have feedback on this seller?

    • I don't see how they can offer local Samsung 2 year warranties if it isn't Aussie stock.
I'll try and find a way to confirm it is local stock with Samsung when mine arrives.

      • Did you order an unopened or opened one?

        • Non-sealed

  • Lol. They sent me an S9, not an S9+.

    • +1

Oh god, please no. Which listing did you buy from?
If they sent me an S9…

      • I bought the S9+ sealed from this listing, which clearly states an S9+. I sent them a message last night, they haven't replied yet.

Trust me, I was fuming too, lmaoo

        • +1

Received mine today. It is an S9+ and seems like local stock (AU Warranty card, Samsung AU charger etc).
Box was fairly well ripped apart, though.
Hopefully they get back to you soon to fix it up.
