Having a day where it's not raining, so you can wash your car? Priceless.

    • +1

I already hav two bottles of this from previous deals…… Meguiar's Ultimate Wash & Wax 1.42 Litre $20

      Sigh…

      • Better stock up another bottle tho just in case you suddenly use both

    • Or Apply the shampoo undercover and simply drive out for the rain to do the rest ;-)

  • Anyone who's experience most of these brands can recommend the best one? Or do they all work very similar?

    • +8

Depends how you wash\wax\care for your car.

IF you wax regularly, then the NXT wash is brilliant, it has water softeners, so you dont need to worry about water spots unless you're on bore water or something.

If you know you'll never wax, then Bowdens Own Wash and Wax or Meguiar's Ultimate Wash & Wax.

That Turtle Wax Max-Power Wash is bloody amazing if you're an off-roader, just smash the pH levels up to max with a triple strength blend and everything just falls off.

      That's all I've used.

      • What about if you have a paint protection like opticoat / ceramic pro. Do you still need to wax? Which product u recommend? Thx

        • For a coated car you don't need wax and it won't bond to the coating. You can pretty much use any of these shampoos. They are all PH balanced which prevents the breakdown of wax and sealants. Coatings don't need PH balanced shampoos. I prefer the extra grunt of alkaline shampoos. I have been pushing Optimum to make an alkaline based shampoo for a while now. Concours Snow+ is an excellent option and Australian owned.

        • +1

If you have ceramic coating you don't want to use any soap with extra wax/polymers which these all have. Carpro reset/concours snow and gyeon bathe are the go to's.

        • @Clinton: NXT does not have wax. And any polymers, won't stick if the car is properly coated anyway.

        • +1

It says it doesn't but it actually does. I have a whole bottle of it which i've resigned to using just on my wheels now.
I tested it on a couple of cars and it leaves a certain "slickness" vs reset/snow. It's not near the wash and wax but certainly there.
Think there's some more evidence on it on the Carcraft auto detailing review of it as well.

        • @Clinton: Where do you get these cheapest? OzBargain style!

The Meguiar's Ultimate Wash & Wax is amazing. Does a great job, smells great and one bottle goes a very, very long way.

      Highly recommended.

      • +2

Yep, stuff is fantastic, and also prolongs wax job if you have waxed prior

    • I like the Gold Class Car Wash, but haven't tried any of the others.

Does a great job cleaning the car and smells like bubble gum to me.

      • do you have any experience with using it in a foam cannon?

  • Can these be used with pressure washers i.e. in the soap tank like the ones that don't go through the motor. E.g. Gerni ?

  • Invest in a pressure washer, makes washing fun! It’s quicker and saves more water

    • Recommendation?

      • +1

I invested in the Karcher K4 premium. I use it to wash the car regularly, planning to wash the pavements and house (bricks). Somehow it always gets delayed hahaha

        • +1 for the K4 premium, an amazing machine and combined with a decent snow foam cannor works wonders for not only the car, but for windows, brick work etc.

I use the Bowden's Own Wax Wash, it's awesome stuff. Especially love the banana smell (reminds me of banana paddle pops :))

    • I have 3 x 2 litres bottles of Bowden's Own that are just waiting for when I finish up the Meguiars Wash and Wax.
The meguiars smelt nice, so it's good to know the BO also does :)

      • +2

It's great, you'll love it! I'm gonna stock up while it's on special too :)

Car wash $1 for 3 minutes.

Get much more time for your money this way then.

Since washing the car is such a pleasure, and a de-stress, id hate for it to be over any sooner!

  • Which one is the best for snow foaming? Any ozb'ers get a lance to go with their Ryobi washer from this deal

    • I don't have the Ryobi washer, but I've got one of these -

      Used with this -

      https://www.carcareproducts.com.au/product/autobrite/supa_sn…

      It's excellent.

      • Ooh pricey

    • +2

Yea buy a $20 from eBay and the correct attachment for about $5. I did for mine and it works well

      • Any recommendations?

        • +1

Check out MJJC on AliExpress, many positive reviews out there for this brand. <$20 USD. Probably also on eBay. While you're at it, pick up some other washing supplies like the wash mitt and the plush drying towel from their store.

That said, any brass-construction foam lance will do the job.

As for foam solution, highly recommend Concours Snow from Waxit. Apparently Megs Gold Class from this deal can also be used with a foam lance but never tried it personally.

        • @Soothsayer: thank you soothsayer, I found a few good lances but the support for ryobi is a bit difficult

        • +1

          @havok44:

Check out this chart which may help you identify which nozzle you need (compare to the type that came with it): http://www.bowdensown.com.au/snow-blow-cannon-adapters

"Lavor" is the common name for the connector Ryobi uses, you might have some better luck searching for that name instead.

        • @Soothsayer: so this lavor connector will allow my ryobi to accept any lance. are all lances universal?

        • @havok44:

Correct, though double check the picture of the Lavor matches the connector of your current pressure washer gun/lance (will be in plastic instead of brass).

When you buy a lance you usually specify which connector you need and is included in the price, so this guarantees it will fit. You could buy a Lavor connector seperately but no guarantee it will fit the lance you choose (though I think they all DO use the same size connectors, but can't be certain).

AFAIK the Aldi pressure washers also use a Lavor connector, and a month or so back Aldi were selling their own snow lance for $50. Could try your luck at the local!

        • @havok44:

Either of these should fit if it is Lavor type:
          https://mjjc.com/collections/foam-cannon/products/foam-canno…
          https://mjjc.com/collections/foam-cannon/products/foam-canno… (LV attachment)

          Their Aliexpress store is cheaper

        • @Soothsayer: thanks so much

        • @Soothsayer: hi soothsayer. Could you please help me out. It’s actually The ryobi #2 black decker end. Do you know which decent cheap lance I can get onto it
          http://www.bowdensown.com.au/snow-blow-cannon-adapters

    • There's a comment in the NXT's reviews that say it foams well with a lance.

      • I've used all of them in a lance. I'd rate them in a lance Gold class>nxt>wash and wax. If you're just using a garden hose attachment naturally the snow won't be as foamy too.

  • can anyone please recommend any good pressure hoses to use with this or sponges/cloth that wont scratch the paint? thanks

    • +1

I bought this and this is very nice and pressure is good enough for washing cars and deck. Most importantly it is portable band easy to storage.
      http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/Product/Bosch-EasyAquatak-1…

I have also bought a separate foam lance bottle and connector from the internet to enhance the foaming result.

  • whats the best way to keep dirt off…
i wash and wax and it rains and dirt sticks…

do i need more wax or…?

tried the ultimate shampoo + different waxes/sealants…
    latest is the nxt

    • +2

If you want to do a good job just get yourself any soap without extra wax then get menzerna powerlock sealant ($30) and collinite 845 wax ($35). For about $65 you'll get enough for a couple years of applications if you do it about 3x a year which you'll want to. The finish will look better than most consumer ceramic coatings. You can also make sure they last longer too by properly decontaminating and claying the surface beforehand.

      • Plus one for the Menzerna/Collinite combination, this is my go to for all of my personal cars as well as the cars I do for friends etc.

        • +1

Can you guys elaborate on that, where do you get the Menzerna/Collinite combination?

    • Following on from comments IE the Menzerna/Collinite combo, if that is too much work or a bit beyond your scope to do then I can highly recommend the Carpro HyroLite spray sealant ( https://www.waxit.com.au/collections/carpro/products/carpro-… ) as an awesome, easy to apply sealant to help protect your car from the dirt etc. Great hydrophoic properties and gives a protective layer to help protect your paint from dust, dirt, bird poo etc.

You spray it on and rinse it off after washing, before you dry the car. A bottle goes a long way, I get about 6 - 8 cars from this one bottle. You can also use it over everything. I use it on wheels, wheel wells, windows, engine bays, door jambs (you spray and wipe off in this case) pretty much everything.

You will get a better gloss/shine from the Menzerna/Collinte combo but this works well in the protection stakes.

      • For an easier solution i think carpro reload/concours nova jet is a bit better than the hydrolite.
Simple wipe on/off process and you can just do it while the car is wet before drying it. Shine + Protection should be better too and both have more filling properties.

        • +1

Cheers mate, I'll have to check it out when I run out of Hydrolite. I was not aware that you coudl put it on wet, I'll give that a go as well!

Am I the only one that has an urge to eat the Macguire's Ultimate Wash & Wax?

    • You're not the only one. Even worse when I wax my car and it smells like strawberries… mm..

  • Meguiar's NXT wash is really good better than the Ultimate Wash & Wax

    • in what way?

curious as i'm happy with ultimate - just wondering hows the NXT better?

      • +1

For me it helps with watermarks since i swapped to the nxt when drying it has definitely helped.

    Hey guys,

I've been using the Armor All Wash & Wax Proglide…. How does it compare to the Meguiar's Ultimate Wash & Wax??

    Cheers

    • +1

      Meguiars will be quite better.

  • +2

like day to night, Meguiar's is the bomb bro…

  • I've been using the Meguiar's Perfect Clarity Glass Cleaner, and it worked well for a while, and makes the car smell awesome. However, after ~ six months of use I noticed it's actually making my windows fog up terribly. I have tried a few things to remove the buildup of Glass Cleaner / film, but no success.
What do people recommend for antifogging car windows ??

  • im pretty sure…it is a plastic bucket.

  • Is meguiars wash and wax suitable for foaming?

    • Nope, not too good for foaming. It'll work but pretty wasteful to use it like that and foaming action isn't that good.

  • whats the Bowden's Own Wax Wash - 2 Litre like anyone tried it
