Looking for ripe strawberries for my pav and found that they are $1.99 at Aldi but couldn't find any decent gooseberries.

Make your own strawberries, simply mix some vinegar or lemon juice in water.

Tastes about the same and much cheaper.

My toddlers smash through strawberries on a punnet or two a day basis. But the supermarket ones (mainly Woolies for me) are often hit and miss - I sense the punnets have been frozen and thawed multiple times over.

These Aldi ones I got this past weekend were surprisingly quite fresh. These bargains don't last, a shame.
