Hmm…. cheap, but not exactly a very high rated brand when it comes to safety. Meets the standards, but there are better chairs out there. But for the price (and the fact it does meet australian standards), + vote.
I rang Go Safe and made some enquires about their car seats. Of particular interest was the Go Safe Cleo which apperas in the above document (CREP report), and which has a fairly good rating. The lady mentioned that the seats all have different names depending on which retailer is selling the product. She also confirmed that the following models in the catalogue: Ether, Alpha, Traverse and Travel were all EXACTLY the same as the Cleo model except for the fabric type and fabric design.
So if that's true, and that's coming direct from their Head Office, then these seats in the catalogue not only meet the Australian Standard, but rate fairly well against much more expensive seats.
Toys R Us are selling all four models with different pricing.

- Ether: 149.99
- Alpha: 155.99
which has now made things even more confusing.
looking at their website, they have different pdf's for each of their chairs… and other than different colours I cant distinguish between them. terrible way of doing things that doesnt really instill confidence in their product.
will still go look at the chair, but already not a great start.
