Howdy folks, have been looking through ebay and the likes but I know amongst the hard-core cohort there are some bargain finders that can out-do me.
I am looking for a ~$1000 gaming laptop, and when I say gaming I don't mean 4K gaming with 120FPS
I would be happy to play on modest settings.
Ideally 14" would be ideal but I think price/performance ratio 15.6" is probably more likely.
I figure that EOFY sales there might be something good to scoop up :)

Check out Dell Ebay AU. There is currently a 20% sale on everything. Also make sure to message them first about warranty. I also just realised the warranty gets added onto a custom listing so the warranty gets discounted as well! They have the 1050 Ti variants for $999 and $1095. My friend owns the $999 model and he says its a great laptop for gaming: Fortnite 70+ fps on high setting at QHD (external monitor) Dota 2 80+ fps at max settings, just to name a few.
If you would like Dell Australia website is doing a sale on the newer generation which features a 1060 max q called the New Inspiron Gaming 7577. This will be much better for heavier AAA games if that is what you play. Its is $1350, you can also get 8-9% cash back through one of the cashback websites.
Just look up benchmarks between the 1050 Ti and 1060 and also think about what games you will be playing. I went for one of the models (Inspiron Gaming 7567) on Dell Ebay because I only play lighter games plus it features a way bigger battery than the 7577.
If you don't mind refurbished model, there is a Lenovo Legion Y720 w/GTX 1060 that fall into your budget range and has a 15.6" screen size.
OP, This one is currently the best bang for your buck for that price bracket, easily.

Unless you're really after a slight performance jump in gaming, and can afford the extra $$, I'd stick with the $1095 one
