Unless they've had another, they had a 50% off promotion on certain items back when they launched AU direct I think. Ended up cancelling a lot of orders.
My dad actually got his Freelander tablet. My order for one (which I placed much earlier than his) got cancelled. They ended up giving me about $20 credit to spend though so wasn't all bad, but much the same as you, stopped buying because they were more expensive than the competition.
