Pretty close to the cheapest I have seen this light, about to pull the trigger on two of them.

Looks like there's only a few hours left on the deal!

EDIT: Updated to new price and expiry

Expensive for what it is imo

Yeelight + any standard lamp does the same thing

    • Naah, disagree, it diffuses light making it softer. also looks fancy and has touch control ( no phone needed). Have it and love it, just be mindful - this is 1st version without wi-fi (just BT), little less handy when used with other smart devices.

this is 1st version without wi-fi (just BT), little less handy when used with other smart

So it's actually less useful then a normal lamp with a Yeelight globe?

        • in the Q&A they said this is Wifi version

        • +1

They have confused things by using photos from the old Silver Yeelight version but it does appear to be the new Mijia Gold Version with both Bluetooth and WiFi.

      • B28?

  • +2

I have one of these, they are pretty good.

It has both WiFi and Bluetooth so if you can use it as a Bluetooth gateway for an item such as the Xiaomi Mi Hygrometer and Thermometer. for home automation etc.

If you have a Mi Band Smartwatch you can set it to turn off automatically when you fall asleep.

    • Do you think they are worth $50?

PS, I am currently using the USB lamp ($1).

      • +2

If you are invested in the Xiaomi smart home ecosystem, yes.

If you're just buying it to use as a lamp, probably not.

I am and will probably buy another later on for the other side of the bed.

Yes, I agree with you, I recogn most of us don't use these functions in this lamp.

Most of people are quite happy with the design of this lamp (USB charging), don't need extra functions (BT and automation etc) to folk out $20 - 30 extra on functions that
          we may never use.

But overall I think it would be a good gift idea based on the quality of the product.

        • +1

@Yaren24: Would also be good if you want to control just with Google home or Alexa.

Why the (profanity) would I shell outmy dollars on this over a $5Kmart lamp?

    • Because this is a smart home product and the Kmart one isn't.

Oh go away, this site isn't just for cheap crap, and some people actually have tastes different to your own.

    • You can try this, Pull cord led

  • It's pretty cool but I find it has more connection issues than the yeelight globes (n=1)

  • any cashback options available?

  • Cheers OP! I created a new account which gave me a US$5 coupon, which brought down the price to US$36.99! :)

    • did you just get the coupon in registration mail or there is a special link somewhere? :)

      • It got emailed to me afterwards, but it should also show up under My Coupons on the site. It was already available for me to use during checkout!

        • +1

thanks! Got the same now ($51 AUD, thanks!)

    • I received a US$3 coupon upon sign-up and it says not valid on this purchase?

      • NM, they must send around different types of coupons restricted to certain categories.

        • that's right. And they don't tell you what categories they are.

  • i have 2 of these, but i couldnt find them in my google home app

    • You need to have the server set to Singapore in the Yeelight app

      • i have other Yeelights that show up OK, pretty sure all are on the Singapore server, but this lamp doesnt show up in the GH app. Yeelight app is fine.

  • Does this thing need to be plugged in, or only for charging? My powerboards are already loaded to the max

    • +1

Yes, it needs to be plugged in.

  • Those Candela lamps interest me as a bedside lamp but after buying a Yeelight globe I realised RGB smart globes are a gimmick unless you need a light with an auto timer.

  • looks like the deal is back with a few more hours remaining, purchased one for $65.22 (including tax).
