Sony HT-MT300 2.1ch Compact Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer $248 @ Harvey Norman

100

Fantastic price for this Sony soundbar. I have been eyeing this but the price has been in the mid to late $300s. Very small footprint and good for tight spaces like the bedroom, and comes with a slim profile wireless subwoofer. Sound is much better than the Bose Solo 5 which doesn't come with a subwoofer and is more expensive. The reviews are pretty decent too! The only drawback I can think of is this unit doesn't have HDMI input/output. There are currently plenty of stock in VIC.

  • damn! i got it for $299 at costco a few months back.
Can confirm this is a good soundbar for PC - much better than the Bose PC speakers that it replaced.

  • what are the batteries for ?

    this or YAS-107

    • Same question, about to order yas 107 from thegoodguys then i saw this deal, any ideas?

    • the batteries are for the remote.
based on my research, this is one of the few soundbars available for desktop due to its length (50cm)
Anything longer (which 107 is) will look stupid on a desk

  • +1

wife and i had a listen to this, the bose, and the yamaha's on the weekend. Yamaha 207 was our preferred. the voice mode that some of these soundbars had (207) was very beneficial to us. This sony had a lot of convenience in style and design, and i agree it would suit a computer or desk, but probably not upgrading from an older soundbar/speaker to a modern one, which is what we were looking for.
I do recommend going in store and listening to a soundbar before purchasing. same goes for most audio products

  • starting to run out of stock in most stores..
