Wow! An extra $186 for Winter Sport Cover… I think I'll stick with Southern Cross.
I wouldn't recommend these guys at all.
My wife had a very legitimate claim a couple of years back and they did everything under the sun to ignore/stall/delay. They asked the same specialist 4 times about her condition, thinking they might get a different answer to avoid paying, took months to process the claim and kept querying costs even though receipts were provided from the outset, then when it came time to pay, they UNDER PAID!! I guess they were hoping we hadn't calculated the total sum and would accept the deposit at face value. It was under by a few thousand!! 6+ months later we were fully reimbursed.
Terrible travel insurance company.

So I was in the market for travel insurance for an upcoming Europe trip and came across this post today. I called Medibank to see if they would match 1Cover which were offering more value for $30 less with $0 excess. Unfortunately, no success in getting a price/product match.
I ended up going with 1 cover as it seemed to be a better deal.
Drat! oh well, I'll file this information away for next year

Cheapest I have found by far with generous inclusions (Essentials is plenty imo) is World2Cover. Used them last time and will again this time.

insurance companies will do what they can to avoid paying out…
