  • Is this any good?

It's especially good at taking footage of ducks.

you made me spit out my cornflakes

          At midnight?

          Man you’re living the life.

          @Sleepy24seven:

I put some peanuts and honey in it.

Better than crunchy nut, on a budget.

    So…………… 360 degrees or 220 degrees?

(either seems pretty hot I guess)

    • Looks like 360 x 220 meaning it covers the full horizontal plane but only part of the vertical plane
As the camera lens faces upwards, it won’t record anything below the camera
Not sure if that’s an issue as you’d be mounting to surfaces like surfboards where there’s no need to look down at the board
Note that other proper 360 cameras have a dual lens system eg Garmin and GoPro fusion where as this only has a single lens

Just watched some footage on ebay. Made me dizzy and nauseous. Just looks like a fisheye lens though.

No reviews on this actual camera?

    • 250mm (10") wide and weighs 1kg!

      Product Dimensions (mm)
      250W x 105D x 105H mm
      Product Weight (kg)
      1 kg

      • That's got to be the box. You can see in the photos it's only slightly bigger than the standard go-pro mount, so it's definitely not 250W

Here's a video of the same thing, different brand from tomtop. Product size listed as 51x42x34.6mm, seems about right.

Couple of links from the video that might be useful also:

Symax Video Converter (updated the link to newer version from the Amkov site)
      Kolor GoPro VR Player
There is also a player on the Symax site

  • Bought one from Virginia QLD this morning. There's at least 2 more on the shelf ($69 but scans as $49) and few more cards for same camera ($49).
I don't have memory card to test it but it's quite small and makes good impression. Especially for $49, btw original price is $99.

  • None on display at Jandakot but they've got em in the cabinet behind the counter.

  • If you're not near an Officeworks, this might be a good option too.

FWIW, returned mine. Video quality is what you'd expect from a $49 device (not that great), but it was the vertical FOV that was annoying me. Despite saying 220 degrees, I don't think it's even 180. When viewing with a headset, the image starts just above eye level so didn't feel quite right.

For your $49 the accessories/mounting options are pretty complete so that might make the difference (if you want to take it underwater etc)

For me, I'll stick with my Cardboard Camera pseudo 360 stills for now, until a cheap full 360 camera comes along.

$25 now if anyone is interested! I just bought one it's disposable at this price

Thanks mate. Going to grab one after dinner

  • If anyone is interested in either cam they have 4x 360 cams and 1x fhd Action Cam left at the Kew East store in Victoria. Open till 9pm tonight.

  • So I've been playing around with the one I picked up tonight. This is my third Action Cam.

First impressions were that it's packaged nicely and seems to be decent build quality.
The accessories it comes with are solid and better than the ones that came with my gearbest cheapo action cam.
It looks like the mounts might work with other generic brand cams.

Wifi connection was poor, Android app is average but functional.
Picture quality (indoors with poor lighting) is pretty average.
I expect a slight improvement outdoors in good lighting conditions.

For $25 it'll make a good budget action cam or dash cam.

Worth it for this price but not much more.

  • Does anyone have any problem with this camera crashing at bootup and not being able to record? I have to pull the battery when this happens
