"The Inca Lightweight Tripod is a flexible…" - they lost me at flexible.

I still have one tucked away in the trunk of my car for emergencies. Good enough for a beginner and carried my a7 / d3400 without any issues. Legs are flimsy and bends sometimes, but can't complain for the price. Wouldn't recommend for long exposure shots even with sand bags.

    • I used to use one of these for long exposures without any issues. As long as there wasn't a decent wind it was perfectly fine for them.

Just because it's cheap doesn't mean you should buy it…I wouldn't risk putting an expensive camera on it due to the fact that slight wind or bump may potentially knock it over. You'll have to constantly replace these…spend a bit extra and you'll only have to worry about the one buy. But if you're using it for family photos and at parties on a beautiful sunny day… then this might just do the job.

I have one of these and I can confirm that some wind can blow it over without a camera. However, with a camera atop, it won't be easily blown over.

I use it for hiking and other situations where weight is a factor.

      • Nah I broke a camera on one of these back in 2009 or so. Was sitting on the tripod on the beach and a gust of wind blew the entire thing over. If there's any wind at all, don't use it.

  • Is it possible to detach the head on this tripod? I would like to attach one with 1/4"-20 thread size. Can anyone share their expertise?

    • +2

Used to have one of these it has a quick release plate, head isn't removable - can't change the thread unless you found a matching plate with different thread which would be unlikely.

      • This model no longer has a QR plate. I have had both; the old cheap one was i3150 which did have a QR plate. This is i3130. I use it for a baby monitor; I don't trust much else on it. Maybe a small flash gun.

  • Would it be possible to attach a UE Megaboom to this?

    • Duct tape is a wonderful thing.

  • Checkout youtube review of this before paying 12 bucks guys.

A $24 tripod will give you nothing but angst and frustration. A half-price $24 tripod will give you nothing but angst and frustration.

If you want a cheap tripod that is probably usable, I'd get one from These guys. At 50% off there are some good deals beyond the one listed.

    • Not much difference between SLIK and Inca if you compare like for like tripods.

And CR Kennedy aren't great to deal with for warranty, but no experience with their retail.

      • +1

        I disagree.

Slik is a known brand which sells internationally and are usually pretty well reviewed. They have low to upper mid range products and have a good track record.

Inca is a small ANZ brand which is on a different scale and is targeted towards the super low end of the market.

        • We'll just have to disagree. SLIK isn't high end. One review doesn't prove much.

Inca makes a lot of junk, but I've used their larger steadier tripods for over a decade. I've taken many many photos including long exposures outdoors and had good results. I've had 2 break. But I paid $15 for each. So quite happy with that.

This particular Inca tripod is too short, too small, too flimsy.

125cm is huge for some things, but not for a tripod.

  • i bought it because ive been sitting my camera on the ground. everyone is right, it really is a flimsy piece of equipment. lucky ive got the receipt

    • just got the Zomei Z666 for $20.50 delivered. bargain

      • That is indeed a bargain. Where'd you get that from?
