Hisense 65P7 UHD TV - $2096 Delivered @ Appliance Central eBay

40
PAMPER20

Hi All,

This is my first deal on Ozbargain.

I was looking at the 65P7 for the last couple of weeks, JB Hifi had it for around $2850(don't quite remember the exact figure but it was greater than $2800) but now they've just dropped it overnight to $2596. However JB did have a $300 giftcard offer on this tv which seems to have now ended as well.

Another poster @doweyy, found and even cheaper price for this on the Appliance central ebay store for $2096 with free delivery which is again about $254 cheaper than the cheapest price I could find.

The tv already comes with a free 3 year warranty and the extra 2 year ext warranty @ $89 is pretty cheap compared to some of the other big retailers.H However that price is through their online store and I can't find an extended warranty for this on ebay, so you may have to call and ask if they'll apply it to the ebay store item.

Just a heads up OP, this is $2096 + Delivery at their eBay Store using PAMPER20 so might be worth updating to that if you want.

    • Cheers, I'll fix it now, hadn't even considered ebay

  • What’s the difference between P7 and N7?

    • +3

      2018 vs 2017 model

      • What happened to O?!

        Thanks

        • +1

‘O’ and ‘I’ are often skipped in lettering systems such this due to their confusion with ‘0’ and ‘1’ respectively.

  • Now we just need a decent review to see if it's worth it over let's say a 65" Sony 8500e..

How would this compare to a TCL 65P6US (which can be bought for ≈$1400)?

An excellent question. Will be stalking your comment for replies.

I have been calling all around Brisbane trying to find a store that has the XXP6US on display as I really want it to be as amazing as it sounds. I am yet to find anyone (Yep, all Videopro's have been called). Anyone seen the P6 in person? Videopro will on do special orders, which is ridiculous. Who would buy a TV of all things sight unseen?

      • I don't think anyone really knows. And I'm not sure who's saying the TCL xxP6US is amazing as as far as I'm aware it's a completely different beast to the US TCL P6 which everyone raves about. As in, missing key features including the local dimming and uses Android TV not Roku. TCl AU don't seem to have put out detailed info on the local models that I can find and there's no reviews released yet. Annoying.

    • BOTH ARE ABOUT THE SAME BUT…

      TCL inc Google's Chrome cast
the TCL will need a BIOS update from out of the box (posted that info elsewhere here and whirlpool)

Id go the new https://www.harveynorman.com.au/samsung-65-inch-q7-4k-ultra-… $4500 and go 50 months interest free
      http://www.samsung.com/au/tvs/qledtv-q9fn/QA65Q9FNAWXXY/

RRP is $7k funny money but the price is dropping like a rock and this is about what it will sell for on blackfriday sales in 2018!

Dont buy an OLED…. Just dont….

There is an N8 out now which is the 2018 model. Not sure what the difference is between the P & N version

    • +2

All ‘N’ are 2017 models (‘P’ are 2018), then the number relates to the Series, which differs in features.

  • does this have the same panel as the 2017 version?

    • i'd have to say its a different panel, this one is 200Hz and the old one was just 100Hz. I know when speccing out custom laptops you can buy the higher Hz panels as different parts.

  • My Hisense n7 had problems with YouTube loading/freezing error. I had to update by USB as directed by Hisense. It works fine except I believe YouTube is quite laggy and slow in skipping a song or any of that nature. I am unable to mirror cast my phone on TV. I have tried but process fails just before last step. I wish I bought a Samsung or LG TV.

    • The 65P7 has the upgraded operating system. The 65N7 was sold with 'VIDA U' and the new one has 'VIDA U 2.5'. I would imagine the operating system is responsible for handling high level functions such as screen mirroring and streaming, so its a just guess, but it should work better than before.

The reason I ended up not going for the 65n7 was there were a few complaints around about the MHL streaming from windows being broken after the redstone 2 update for windows 10. Apparently it worked fine before this and on windows 8. I asked a question a while back on one of the last 65N7 ozbargain posts to see if it had improved since, given that windows is up to the redstone 5 release now and I figured microsoft might have patched it. Perhaps Hisense didn't implement it properly.

I asked at JB whether they could demonstrate that it would work on one of their in store laptops which should have been a fairly simple operation to make a sale but it was too much effort. He said I could always claim it under warranty if it didn't work… yeah right imagine going through that process, they'd just blame it on your laptop and probably ask you to reinstall windows just to prove it.

As for specs and in particular what they say it can do regarding streaming and casting etc here is the link to official spec sheet off the hisense site: https://etcpg3uvcgs41q4ci23mfssr-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com/wp-…

      • could u not just solve all of this by hooking it up to an android tv box

        • Yes, and it would probably be a better experience than the stock tv operating system. I suppose the android tv box is an extra expense and another remote, but I've heard a few people say this is a good way to go with tvs if you can get a good quality panel cheap enough.
